NFL Week 14: PHI at DAL Is Not SNF Worthy. So What Is?

Eli ChesnerNov 28, 2010

When Week 14 comes in the NFL, that's when NBC gets picky about their games being broadcast live on National TV with playoff implications on the line.

This year, NBC's game in Week 14 is the Eagles (who will probably make the playoffs) and the Cowboys (yeah...).

So, there is a good chance NBC will chose a different game from that day and put it on Sunday Night Football. But which game will it be?

Well, let me look at the games being played that Sunday and see if I can do it for them.

(NOTE: Thursday Night Football is Colts at Titans)

(NOTE: Monday Night Football is Ravens at Texans)

Games with no chance of being moved to Sunday Night Football on NBC:

1. Browns at Bills: Two teams that have no chance of making the playoffs, though these teams have been playing spoiler lately.

2. Buccaneers at Redskins: The Buccaneers have a chance of making the playoffs, but the Redskins have no chance after losing to the Vikings in Week 12.

3. Bengals at Steelers: The Bengals have been a complete collapse this season, while the Steelers have been a surprise. But the Steelers are on SNF the previous week.

4. Falcons at Panthers: The Falcons are the best team in the NFC, while the Panthers are the worst team in not only the NFC, but the NFL. So there is no chance of this game being on NBC.

5. Packers at Lions: The Packers have been a great team, while the Lions have been awful.

6. Broncos at Cardinals: The two worst teams out west will definitely not be on NBC.

Games with little chance of Sunday Night Football telecast:

1. Raiders at Jaguars: These two teams have been the biggest surprise teams in the AFC, and they could meet in the playoffs as well.

2. Rams at Saints: The Rams will be fighting for the NFC West title, but since no one cares about them, even though they are playing the defending Super Bowl Champion, no chance of being on SNF.

3. Seahawks at 49ers: The Seahawks are also fighting for the NFC with the red hot 49ers. Still no chance of NBC broadcast.

4. Eagles at Cowboys: The Eagles have been a story for this season and so have the Cowboys. The Cowboys have been a huge disappointment so far this year, and even though this is a rivalry, this will likely get moved.

Games with the most chance of SNF telecast:

1. Patriots at Bears: Two fantastic teams square off in Chicago.

2. Giants at Vikings: The Vikings have a new coach and the Giants are struggling. The Vikings will try and spoil the Giants season in Minnesota.

3. Dolphins at Jets: I would put this as the favorite, but NBC already chose the Jets at Dolphins in Week 3, so they wouldn't put this rivalry on twice.

Game that will likely be chosen:

Chiefs at Chargers: This could be a battle of who wins the AFC West. If NBC was smart, they would show this game and show the Chiefs on national TV for the second time this year.
