Jarome Iginla, Calgary Flames Scorches the NHL in Week 8's Fantasy Hot Players
Superstar Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames makes the Hot list after previously ending up on the cold front not too long ago. It’s always great to see a player of his caliber shake a slump so quickly to remain one of the best in the league. The Colorado Avalanche boast two players on the Hot side of this week’s edition.
Who else set the league on fire this week?
Kevin Shattenkirk, Colorado Avalanche Defenseman
1 of 5
Last week, John-Michael Liles made the list. This week, his teammate makes a surprise appearance.
The rookie has had a fantastic week, filling up the stat line.
Shattenkirk has scored two goals on seven shot attempts, dished out three assists and is +2 this week.
Quite the effort from the rook. Keep an eye on him going forward.
Ilya Bryzgalov, Phoenix Coyotes Goalie
2 of 5
One of the better goalies in the league, Bryzgalov has won his past six starts and has seven wins for the month of November. In his last outing on November 23, Bryzgalov completed the shutout over the Edmonton Oilers.
In the past week, he has three wins including the shutout, and a .938 save percentage.
Matt Duchene, Colorado Avalanche Center
3 of 5
Both Sidney Crosby and Steven Stamkos could have made the list, but Colorado’s Matt Duchene lands here for the first time this season.
Duchene’s owners caught trips on the flop this week in three categories. Duchene score three goals on just nine shot attempts, handed out three assists and was +3 for the week.
A fantastic performance.
Rick Nash, Colombus Blue Jackets Wing
4 of 5
Nash didn’t fill the stat line, but when your player scores five goals in a week it’s tough to complain. He took 18 shots on goal, second to only Alexander Ovechkin this week.
Nash failed to record an assist but was +1 for the week and his five goals and amount of attempts definitely kept his owners in the hunt for two categories.
Jarome Iginla, Calgary Flames Wing
5 of 5
Iginla made the cold list not too long ago. It appears to have lit a fire underneath him.
Iginla was one of the best fantasy players over the past week.
He scorched the opposition for six total goals and dished out one assist. He was amazingly +5 and took an abundance of shots on goal (19).
Iginla has been of the premier players in the NHL for years now and shows no signs of slowing down.
