NFL Picks Week 12: Eagles, Jets, Packers and the Rest of the Weekend’s Winners
Week 12 is nearly here and that means it's time for some picks. Here are 12 picks that are sure to either come true, or explode in my face.
This weekend is different than any other NFL weekend however. It's Thanksgiving this Thursday and we NFL fans will have already feasted on three games before Sunday even arrives.
Can't wait to find out who we like? I hear you, just begin the slideshow to get to the games and find out who wins.
Patriots Over Lions
1 of 12
The Patriots kick off Thanksgiving Day Football this Thursday on the road in Detroit against the 2-8 Lions.
New England has been tuned in ever since the road beat down that Cleveland gave them a few weeks back, and you wouldn't expect the Patriots to loose to the Lions while the Jets keep winning.
Patriots 31 Lions 13
Saints Over Cowboys
2 of 12
The second game of Turkey Day comes courtesy of the Saints and Cowboys. The two meet up in Dallas, where the Cowboys are 1-4 this season, winning their first home game last week against the Lions.
The Saints, much like the Patriots, are chasing an upstart Atlanta Falcons team in the standings, and wouldn't seem fit to lose to the 3-7 Cowboys this late in the season.
Saints 37 Cowboys 21
Jets Over Bengals
3 of 12
In the final game on Thanksgiving, the Jets get the day's first home victory, as they defeat the Bengals for the third time in two seasons.
The 2-8 Bengals should pack it in anytime now, and the Jets have proved they can win anyway possible. A combination that clearly favors New York.
Jets 28 Bengals 24
Packers Over Falcons
4 of 12
Something has got to give when the Packers take their four-game winning streak on the road to battle the Falcons, also winners of four straight.
The Green Bay defense will be the difference in this game, and considering the Falcons have struggled to hold onto leads and have squeaked out a few wins this season, the Packers should pull it out.
Packers 24 Falcons 14
Jaguars Over Giants
5 of 12
The Jags are in New York this Sunday to take on the struggling Giants, losers of two straight division games.
Jacksonville has won three straight games and is 2-2 on the road this season. If Eli Manning and the Giant offense continues to turn the ball over, the Jags will win easy.
Jaguars 27 Giants 24
Redskins Over Vikings
6 of 12
The Redskins ride the high of a game-winning field goal last week into DC against the troubled Vikings on Sunday.
McNabb and company can send Brett Favre further into retirement with a win in this one. Might we see Tarvaris Jackson?
Redskins 31 Vikings 21
Texans Over Titans
7 of 12
The Titans continue their free-fall this Sunday in Houston, when they lose their fourth straight game.
The Texans haven't exactly been reassuring in the past weeks however, giving up two late touchdown passes to lose both games.
Still though, Tennessee faces questions at quarterback while the Texans have a more than capable offense with an identity.
Texans 23 Titans 13
Raiders Over Dolphins
8 of 12
One of the week's more underrated games features two 5-5 AFC teams coming off of embarrassing losses.
This one really could go either way, as the Raiders are 4-1 at home, and the Dolphins are 4-1 on the road. We'll give the edge to Oakland in the black hole.
Raiders 31 Dolphins 24
Seahawks Over Chiefs
9 of 12
Another surprisingly good game Sunday is Kansas City at Seattle in a matchup of the two west division leaders.
The Chiefs are awful on the road this season however, losing four of their five games, and the win came against Cleveland early in the season.
Seattle should win this one at home and finally open give the NFC West something to build on.
Seahawks 21 Chiefs 17
Eagles Over Bears
10 of 12
The Eagles and Bears, both 7-3, battle in a late game on Sunday in Chicago.
Michael Vick looks to improve upon his current record and take his league best zero interceptions on the road to get a victory and keep Philadelphia in first place in the NFC East.
The Bears remaining schedule is daunting and this could be the game that sends them into a downward trend.
Eagles 20 Bears 10
Ravens Over Buccaneers
11 of 12
The Ravens and Bucs kick off in Baltimore on Sunday afternoon. Both are 7-3, but most would agree that the Ravens are the better team.
Baltimore is undefeated at home and their defense will be feasting on Josh Freeman and the Bucs offense.
Ravens 35 Buccaneers 17
Chargers Over Colts
12 of 12
The Chargers are in Indianapolis Sunday night to play the Colts.
San Diego is on a three game winning streak that has them back in business at 5-5, while the Colts have lost two out of three and now find themselves trailing the Jaguars by a half game in the AFC South.
Philip Rivers and Peyton Manning are both MVP candidates but Rivers defense might be a little better. The edge goes to the Chargers.
Chargers 31 Colts 28
