Carlo Ancelotti in Trouble at Chelsea
Carlo Ancelotti appears to have lost control of Chelsea and Stamford Bridge. The cause was club owner Roman Abramovich replacing his assistant Ray Wilkins with Michael Emenalo.
The reaction of Ancelotti has been one of outrage, as he was not consulted about these changes.
The changes could not have happened at a worst time with Chelsea being in first place in the EPL table with 28 points. It has also affected morale in a team that has been defeated three times consecutively.
I often wonder why would Abramovich do something to break something if it is not broken. It appears that Abramovich has a hobby of destroying sports careers since the same thing happened with former managers Jose Mourinho and Avram Grant.
The other reason that comes to mind is that Abramovich might want people whom he can confide. Michael Emenalo is very close to Abramovich.
Abramovich could care less about Chelsea winning the Premier League and the FA Cup during the previous season. It also appears that Abramovich is unable to appreciate the gradual addition of younger players for better results.
The changes in players occurred during the summer of 2010. Ancelotti has explained that the losses were due to a lack of focus, but Abramovich does not want to hear about it.
The end result of the shuffling of the deck at Stamford Bridge has been Ancelotti being a manager without a team.
While his contract expires in 2012, the world wonders whether Abramovich will replace Ancelotti during or after the end of the 2010-2011 Premier League Season.
