A wild afternoon in Nashville!

Trading kick for kick, score for score.

Plenty of big plays to go around in this game folks on both sides of the ball.

Nate Washington of the Titans had over a hundred yards receiving. Chris Johnson had the best game on the ground of any opposing running back against the Redskins this season.

The sweet part of those stats?

Johnson was kept out of the endzone. Which is not an easy task to do.

The other great thing about this game?

The Redskins won and the third down conversions actually started working.

I am looking forward to the grades this week for once so lets get to them.

QB: B+. Guess what? He had a good game. 60% passing, 376 yards, a touchdown and an interception. About standard McNabb but he was able to keep the Redskins offense on the field.

RB: C. An average game on the ground for Keiland Williams, one bright spot was the return of Clinton Portis for the first time in what seems like forever.

FB: A. Look who keeps playing like an underrated player. Mike Sellers didn't break a big run today. He caught one pass for six yards but his blocking on offense and special teams helped greatly.

WR: A. All of them stepped up. Santana Moss had a huge day. Anthony Armstrong was only a step or two away from breaking it open a couple times. Joey Galloway missed a huge catch in the fourth quarter but it was a tough catch to make.

TE: A. That has to be the hardest I've seen Fred Davis run/play/block since he signed his contract. Chris Cooley didn't play bad either, seven catches for ninety-one yards. Great day for the Redskins tight ends.

OL: B. I have to give them credit they did a pretty good job overall today. They did allow three sacks and didn't get a great push for the running game but played decent overall. Stephon Heyer played right guard all game instead of Artis Hicks and it made a world of difference in this game. Even Sam Huff and Sonny Jurgenson, who were calling the game on local 94.3 ESPN980, were giving compliments on how well Heyer was playing today.

DL: B. A pretty big contribution as a team effort from the guys in the trenches. $100 million for one tackle still bothers me a little bit but Albert Haynesworth's playing time was limited in this game.

LB: A. London Fletcher, Brian Orakpo, H.B. Blades, Lorenzo Alexander and Rocky McIntosh all had great games and contributed well to the over all win.

CB: B+. I am going to get burned for this one just like the secondary got burned by Nate Washington, Justin Gage and Bo Scaife on three plays. Aside from that they played pretty good and, of all people, Philip Buchanon was one of the biggest role players on defense in this game. His team leading six tackles and a clutch interception helped get the Skins into overtime for the win. It did not appear that the absence of Carlos Rogers made a huge difference in this game.

S: C+. Reed Doughty and Kareem Moore played pretty good in the absence of LaRon Landry due to a lingering Achilles injury. Both of them could have wrapped up a little bit better but Doughty was tied with London Fletcher for tackles in the game so they must have been doing something right.

K: ?. What in the world do you grade a guy who missed two field goals that could have put the game out of reach in regular time but then nails a long yardage clutch kick in overtime to win it? Your call.

P: C. Average performance from Hunter The Punter Smith.

Coaching: B. Third down conversions were definitely better in this game and the entire team seemed very well prepared for the Titans and Vince Young. Letting a game get into overtime is the only reason they did not get an A.

Redskins fans can bathe in the pool of victory for another week. Next week the Redskins get a limping Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings at home. The Vikings just lost badly to a Green Bay team that the Redskins squeaked out a win against.

For now, enjoy the taste of an overtime win in Nashville.

Look for my next interview with a Minnesota Vikings writer later in the week.

Hail!
