Manny Pacquiao: Bob Arum Starts Negotiations With Berto and Mosley

Bob Arum has began negotiating for Manny Pacquiao's next fight and said all his company needs to know with regards to the long-awaited duel between Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is for Floyd to tell him who he needs to talk to, according to Lem Satterfield of Boxingscene.

Arum was referring to Al Haymon or Don King who are potential negotiators on behalf of Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in connection with the twice-scuttled Pacquiao-Mayweather fight.

So far, Bob Arum has talked to Shane Mosley and Andre Berto for a possible crack at Pacquiao early next year.

Andre Berto is being handled by promoter Lou DiBella, while Mosley, who claims he has severed ties with Golden Boy Promotions, is being represented by newly appointed adviser, James Prince.

Andre Berto is due to defend his WBC welterweight title against Freddy Fernandez next Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

Berto, who is from earthquake-devastated Haiti, is undefeated in his 26 fights with 20 knockouts to his credit. He had a signed contract to face Mosley last year, but the fight was called off due to his country's devastation where some of his relatives were injured.

After the Haiti earthquake, Andre Berto returned to the ring last April and stopped Carlos Quintana in the eighth round to retain his WBC welterweight crown.

For his part, Shane Mosley who fought Sergio Mora to a draw, said he was at Bob Arum's office yesterday and reported on his Twitter page he is 90 percent sure he's next in line for the pound-for-pound king.

Another possible opponent of Pacquaio for his next fight is Juan Manuel Marquez who is set to defend his lightweight title against Michael Katsides on Nov. 27.

If Marquez wins, he will become a serious threat to Mosley and Berto for the right to face Manny Pacquiao early next year.

Still, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. remains the most desired opponent of Pacquiao, but due to his pending court suits in Nevada, he may not be available to fight Pacquiao next year.
