Arizona Offensive Cast

Derek Anderson (QB Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 121/226 for 1,481 yards and six TDs

DA had a decent fantasy week against the Seahawks last game, but I still can’t get behind him enough to rank him.

Beanie Wells (RB Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 70 carries for 231 yards and two TDs; three receptions for 25 yards and zero TDs

Wells will be making his return this week, but my guess is he won’t get too many reps with the Cards likely to go down early and Tim Hightower being the passing-down back.

Tim Hightower (RB Week 11 Ranking: No. 28) 2010 Season: 79 carries for 376 yards and three TDs; 11 receptions for 87 yards and zero TDs

Supposedly, Beanie Wells will be practicing all week and giving it a go this weekend, but that shouldn’t matter too much if the Cards get down early to the Chiefs.  Hightower is still the guy they use in passing situations, a predicament Arizona could be facing quite often on Sunday.

Larry Fitzgerald (WR Week 11 Ranking: No. 15) 2010 Season: 49 receptions for 601 yards and four TDs

KC’s pass D was destroyed last week against Denver to the tune of five passing TDs and 299 yards.  Now, Derek Anderson is no Kyle Orton, not by a long shot, but Larry Fitz is just as special as anyone else in the league, so I expect a nice game out of him regardless of Anderson’s accuracy woes.

Steve Breaston (WR Week 11 Ranking: No. 39) 2010 Season: 29 receptions for 456 yards and one TD

I’ll say it again:  Anyone playing alongside Larry Fitzgerald should be able to put up some decent fantasy numbers, and while Breaston has hardly been setting the world on fire, he has averaged nine targets, five receptions and 91 yards the last three weeks.  Again, you could do worse with him as your WR3, especially against a beatable KC secondary.

Early Doucet (WR Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 15 receptions for 182 yards and one TD

Doucet finally showed up to play last week, but I’ll need to see a little consistency before getting him up in my rankings.

Ben Patrick (TE Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 12 receptions for 99 yards and zero TDs

Patrick caught a pass last week, so there’s your proof of life, folks.

Kansas City Chiefs (Chiefs Schedule)

Opponent Defensive Ranks

Arizona Pass Defense 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 22nd; TDs Allowed T-20th

Arizona Rush Defense 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 28th; TDs Allowed 12th

Kansas City Offensive Cast

Matt Cassel (QB Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 158/267 for 1,881 yards and 16 TDs

Last week’s numbers will never happen again for Cassel, but he came close to making my rankings, regardless, going up against a pretty bad Arizona defense.

Thomas Jones (RB Week 11 Ranking: No. 21) 2010 Season: 141 carries for 573 yards and three TDs; five receptions for 40 yards and zero TDs

It looks like the Chiefs are leaning more towards Jamaal Charles lately, but don’t go sour on Jones just yet.  Against an Arizona rush defense that has given up the fifth-most rushing yards and third-most TDs, there should be plenty to go around for both of them this Sunday.

Jamaal Charles (RB Week 11 Ranking: No. 5) 2010 Season: 127 carries for 760 yards and two TDs; 26 receptions for 318 yards and one TD

“The Ostrich” is being worked into the offensive game plan more and more every week, and I can’t see a game against the fifth-worst rush D in the league changing that pattern all too much in a make-or-break week for the Chiefs.  Arizona is pretty much an open wound at this point, and Charles has the ability to make them feel more pain than they’ve felt all year.  Six yards per carry (best in the NFL)?!?!  You’ve got to be kidding me!

Dwayne Bowe (WR Week 11 Ranking: No. 7) 2010 Season: 39 receptions for 606 yards and nine TDs

Bowe is on a streak right now unmatched in the NFL, catching eight TDs in his last five games.  I thought that trend would come to an end last Sunday with Champ Bailey shadowing him all game long, but instead, he put up the best game of his career against him.  Arizona owns the sixth-worst pass D in the league, so watch for another screamer out of “The Gazelle” this weekend.

Chris Chambers (WR Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 12 receptions for 118 yards and one TD

Chambers turned in his best performance this year last weekend, but with Cassel unlikely to throw for even half the yardage he did in that game, I doubt Chris does anything of significance this Sunday.

Dexter McCluster (WR Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 15 receptions for 147 yards and one TD

McCluster is listed as “questionable” for this week’s game, so at least he’s headed in the right direction.

Tony Moeaki (TE Week 11 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 31 receptions for 378 yards and two TDs

Moeaki has been ruled out this weekend, so sit him on your bench for a bit.
