Mihai Stoica Appointed General Manager of FC Steaua Bucuresti

Mihai Stoica has just been appointed General Manager of FC Steaua Bucuresti. FC Steaua Bucuresti is a club owned by Gigi Becali, who is a sports personality and politician in Romania.

The appointment comes at a time when the team is facing Liverpool in its next game for the UEFA Europa League.

The Romanian Team defeated FC Utrecht in October of 2010.

Mihai Stoica, also known as M.M. Stoica or Meme Stoica, was born in Romania in 1965. He has worked his way up the ladder in Romanian Football.

He started his career as a General Manager and CEO of FC Otelul Galati in 1992. He served in this position for the club until 2002.

In the year 2002, he served in the capacity as President of Steaua Bucuresti until 2007 when he accepted a similar position with Unirea Urziceni.

He remained with Unirea Urziceni until his current appointment with his former club, Steaua Bucuresti.

His record includes victories in the Romanian Super Championships as well as its Supercopa and the UEFA Champions League.

The club is currently in second place in the Group K UEFA Europa League with five points behind first place Liverpool, which has five.

It remains to be seen how the club will fare with the new General Manager.
