Did Maiquel Falcao leave an impression for the UFC audiences worldwide against Gerald Harris?

Absolutely.

Was it a good one?

I can't say that much, but it was an impression nonetheless.

If you missed the fight, don't sweat it: both fighters were fairly inactive for the majority of the bout, only throwing shots at each other in sparsity.

Perhaps Harris was well aware of what Falcao brought to the table: the man had never been out of the second round, nor had he seen the second round in over two years, and he'd scored 21 career wins by some form of knockout.

Harris of course wanted to steer clear of something in which his opponent was obviously skilled in, but in opting to fight a smart fight, he neither banked on some solid takedown defense and strong cardio in his opponent, nor did he opt to throw caution to the wind and trade with Falcao.

As for the newcomer, he started off somewhat slow but was able to get Harris' back near the end of the first round and almost had Harris in a rear naked choke, but time expired and therefore Harris couldn't tap.

It must be noted that Falcao didn't release the rear naked choke until referee Dan Miragliotta pulled him off two seconds after the horn for round number one had finished sounding.

The next two rounds were similar, with Falcao somehow getting the back of Harris and controlling "Hurricane Harris" every single time, much to the unfiltered chagrin and disapproval of the sold-out crowd at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The judges calculated their scores at the end of the fight, seeing all three rounds for the young UFC newcomer who looked to bring some of that old Chute Boxe Madness back into the Mixed Martial Arts world.

Falcao may have beaten the TUF 7 alumnus by unanimous decision, but I still feel that it'll be a while before we can truly see what this guy is truly made of as a fighter.
