Danica Patrick Video: Why Is Racing Queen Recreating 'Anchorman'?

A Danica Patrick video is blowing up the Internet. In it, the race car driver tries her hand at her best Veronica Corningstone impression from the hilarious Will Ferrell comedy "Anchorman."

Sure, Patrick is a brunette and Corningstone had blond hair, but that's neither here nor there. Patrick talks about her love for the movie and clearly knows the film because she quotes lines from it the entire time, with a pretty high level of accuracy I might add.

I'm not sure why in the world ESPN the Magazine decided to do this, but why not? It's not like Patrick is out there winning races. It's a pretty decent idea and the actors that take the roles of the iconic characters from that movie disappoint me.

I love that movie and actors like Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell and Steve Carell are irreplaceable. Seeing anyone else in those costumes is almost a crime. I just want to know what the magazine is doing with this footage. I mean, why set this up for no reason other than this video? The whole thing just perplexes me.

But as a fan of the movie, hearing the lines again and thinking back on it, it made me miss the good ol' days when Will Ferrell made funny movies instead of doing things like "Land of the Lost". You're better than that Will.

But watch the video and you be the judge. Did Patrick do the movie and the character justice or is this just a bizarre thing to watch?  Leave those thoughts in the comments.
