NFL Picks Week 11: Predictions For Every Game; Will The 49ers Win?
Here are my picks for all 14 games for Week 10 of the 2010 NFL season.
You'll see some interesting selections, including my thoughts on whether the Philadelphia Eagles will get revenge on the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.
Moreover, will the New England Patriots knock off the Pittsburgh Steelers in a AFC showdown? Will the Atlanta Falcons edge out the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football?
Find out my predictions on that, and much more.
Last Week: 6-8
Cumulative Season Record: 79-65 (.549)
Note: No excuses, but last week's upsets really skewed my predictions as it did for most analysts.
Chicago Bears (6-3) @ Miami Dolphins (5-4)
1 of 16
Winner: Chicago Bears
Sure, the Miami Dolphins finally got their first win at home last week. However, I don't see that continuing. Especially with both Chad Pennington and Chad Henne injured at quarterback.
The Chicago Bears defense should stand strong, and pull out a victory in this one.
This game will broadcast at 8:20 P.M. EDT on NFL Network on Thursday Night Football.
Buffalo Bills (1-8) @ Cincinnati Bengals (2-7)
2 of 16
Winner: Cincinnati Bengals
Who would've guessed the Cincinnati Bengals would be in this position at this point in the season? Even though they've certainly got talent on their roster, they simply haven't been able to put it all together.
Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills aren't in much better shape either as they just won their first game of the season last week.
All in all, this is the battle of the disappointing.
Nonetheless, I like the Bengals in this one.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Detroit Lions (2-7) @ Dallas Cowboys (2-7)
3 of 16
Winner: Dallas Cowboys
These two teams may have the same records, but there's no denying that the Dallas Cowboys are more skilled on paper than the Detroit Lions are. In fact, the 'Boys were expected to be Super Bowl contenders.
Based on their performance last week, they certainly played the part and I expect that to carry over.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Washington Redskins (4-5) @ Tennessee Titans (5-4)
4 of 16
Winner: Tennessee Titans
This is a contest between two teams that are on the bubble and need to be propelled over the hump if they want any chance at their respective playoff races.
After being decimated by Michael Vick and the Eagles offense, who's to say they wont get beat by the underrated Titans offense as well?
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Arizona Cardinals (3-6) @ Kansas City Chiefds
5 of 16
Winner: Kansas City Chiefs
It's not every week that you score 49 points in a game, and it won't be every week that the Chiefs allow it .
Moreover, even though the Kansas City Chiefs rushing attack has been off lately, I expect them to bounce back and regain their dominance against the league's 5th worst run defense.
Also, their passing game appeared connected with Matt Cassel and Dwayne Bowe developing a formidable tandem.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Green Bay Packers (6-3) @ Minnesota Vikings (3-6)
6 of 16
Winner: Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers have been playing like the best team in football lately, so there's no reason they shouldn't win this game.
The Minnesota Vikings are in complete disarray and show few signs of turning around their season.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Houston Texans (4-5) @ New York Jets (7-2)
7 of 16
Winner: New York Jets
Heading into the season, the Houston Texans were projected to finally pull their squad together and rally into the playoffs.
However, after losing four of their past five games, it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. Looking at the situation, it's clear that the defense is the primary issue with the team.
Therefore, I expect the New York Jets to capitalize on it and breeze through with an easy victory.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Oakland Raiders (5-4) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3)
8 of 16
Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
The Oakland Raiders have been absolutely rampant over the past few weeks, winning three consecutive games.
However, it's not often that the Pittsburgh Steelers lose at home and I certainly don't see it occurring in back to back weeks.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS
Baltimore Ravens (6-3) @ Carolina Panthers (1-8)
9 of 16
Winner: Baltimore Ravens
Honestly, this won't even be a fair fight.
The Baltimore Ravens are playing dominant football right now, while the Carolina Panthers are arguably the worst team in the NFL.
Easy win for the men in purple.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS.
Cleveland Browns (3-6) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (5-4)
10 of 16
Winner: Cleveland Browns
Both of these teams have been pleasant surprises thus far this season, and this is a chance to show the football world that they are the real deal.
I think Peyton Hillis and the Browns offense will prevail, and pull out a close victory here.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EDT on CBS.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3)
11 of 16
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
Regardless of their records, I believe that these two teams are about neck and neck in terms of overall talent.
With Troy Smith now leading the way, I see the 49ers coming out with an upset over the Bucs here.
This game will be broadcast at 4:05 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Seattle Seahawks (5-4) @ New Orleans Saints (6-3)
12 of 16
Winner: New Orleans Saints
The Seattle Seahawks may have knocked off the Arizona Cardinals in an impressive victory last week, but they're still no match for the defending Super Bowl champions in the Superdome.
Expect Drew Brees and their potent aerial attack to shred through the Seahawks weak secondary all day long.
This game will be broadcast at 4:05 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Atlanta Falcons (7-2) @ St. Louis Rams (4-5)
13 of 16
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are 2-2 on the road, while the St. Louis Rams are 4-1 on the road.
That along with the strong play from quarterback Sam Bradford should equate into a victory here, right?
Wrong. I think the Falcons are simply playing too well right now to be stopped.
This game will be broadcast at 4:05 P.M. EDT on FOX.
Indianapolis Colts (6-3) @ New England Patriots (7-2)
14 of 16
Winner: Indianapolis Colts
The revival of the rivalry. Who could want more?
Both teams are playing at an elite level, but I see Peyton Manning taking advantage of the New England Patriots soft defense.
This game will be broadcast at 4:15 P.M. EDT on CBS.
New York Giants (6-3) @ Philadelphia Eagles (6-3)
15 of 16
Winner: Philadelphia Eagles
The manner in which Michael Vick played on Monday Night was downright phenomenal. He truly seemed unstoppable.
These are two of the beasts in the NFC and is sure to be a tight one, but I expect No. 7 to be the difference in the end.
This game will be broadcast at 8:20 P.M. EDT on NBC on Sunday Night Football.
Denver Broncos (3-6) @ San Diego Chargers (4-5)
16 of 16
Winner: San Diego Chargers
Both teams have been relative disappointments this season, and on a national stage they have a golden opportunity to prove themselves.
I envision Phillip Rivers tearing through the Denver Broncos, and winning at home where they are 3-1.
This game will be broadcast at 8:30 P.M. EDT on ESPN on Monday Night Football.
