Week 11 Fantasy Football Rankings: Running Backs

Bruno Boys Fantasy FootballNov 17, 2010

We are now 10 weeks through the NFL season and the majority of fantasy football leagues are starting to hit the home stretch. By now you pretty much know if you have to give up hope or your team is still alive and ready to make an exciting playoff run.

Each week from here on out is crucial and starting the right running backs will be key to your team's success. So check out the Week 11 fantasy football running back rankings to see who you need to get in your lineups for this important week.

1. Frank Gore (San Francisco 49ers) vs. Tampa Bay

Gore’s spectacular fantasy season continued—with 81 yards and a touchdown on the ground and 67 receiving yards on three catches—in Sunday’s win over the St. Louis Rams.

Gore had scored less than 13 fantasy points in just two weeks this season and with 778 rushing yards and 415 receiving yards through 10 weeks, he is one of the best running back options in all of fantasy football.

The Niners may be suffering through an inconsistent season but Gore is having one of his most consistent years. He has only played a full 16-game season once in his career, so the injury risk still has to be in the back of an owner's mind.

Up against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers run defense that’s allowed 4.8 yards per carry, 143.8 yards per game and eight touchdowns this season, Gore is the best running back option in fantasy football for Week 11.

Point Projection: 23 points

2. Chris Johnson (Tennessee Titans) vs. Washington

Johnson managed 117 yards and a touchdown on only 17 carries Sunday in another solid performance.

With 838 rushing yards through nine games, C.J. won’t come close to his lofty predictions before the season. But he has nine touchdowns and has lived up to the RB1 hype, thankfully.

Many thought they’d be getting an absolute game-changer when they drafted Johnson, and while he hasn’t done that, he’s certainly been worth his average draft pick.

After a combination of six different Philadelphia Eagles ran for 260 yards Monday night against the Washington Redskins, C.J. could be in for a huge game in Week 11.

Point Projection: 22 points

3. Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings) vs. Green Bay

A.P. had his worst performance of 2010 on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. He ran for 51 yards on 17 carries and 24 yards on four receptions for just seven fantasy points.

It’s really not a terrible performance considering the team’s overall showing in the game, it’s just not the type of performance we expect from Peterson.

The Vikings face the Green Bay Packers in Week 11, which is good news for fantasy owners. Back in Week 7, the Vikes traveled to Green Bay and Peterson had 172 total yards and a touchdown. This week the Vikings are at home where Peterson has five touchdowns in four games compared to just two in five road games.

It should be more of a typical performance from A.P. in Week 11, and the Vikings will need him to come up big in a crucial game for the team.

Point Projection: 20 points
