Fantasy Football Week 11 Waiver Wire: Players To Cut from Your Fantasy Team

Bruno Boys Fantasy FootballNov 16, 2010

Injuries are the theme of this week’s "Players To Cut from Your Fantasy Team" article. The most notable one is the shoulder injury to Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. At this point you just feel bad for the Lions and Stafford, who’s already on his second shoulder injury of the season.

At first Detroit was optimistic about it but it’s the same type of injury that cut short the season of Sam Bradford, now with the St. Louis Rams, when he was still playing at Oklahoma.

Of course, an injury isn’t the only reason a player makes this list. We have a handful of guys who are either not producing or were borderline fantasy football players in the first place, and now that the bye weeks are over they are no longer needed. Now it’s time to find out who joins Stafford on the Week 11 Players To Cut from Your Fantasy Team list.

Jahvid Best (Detroit Lions)

With five touchdowns in the first two games of the season Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best made an immediate impact as a rookie.

Since then, however, he’s been shut out, having failed to reach the end zone in the team’s last seven games. He’s only rushed for more than 50 yards twice this season, and the last time he did that was in Week 5 when he had 59 yards.

Despite the return of Kevin Smith to the lineup, Best is still receiving the majority of the carries so in deeper leagues it would be wise to hold onto him in the event he finds his early-season form.

However, the lack of production in both yardage and scores has been a problem for a while, and that makes him expendable in 10-team leagues in which their is more depth on the waiver wire.

**NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DEPTH AT RUNNING BACK AND THERE IS A SERVICEABLE OPTION ON THE WAIVER WIRE BEFORE DUMPING BEST**

Lee Evans (Buffalo Bills)

A couple of big games boosted the value of Buffalo Bills receiver Lee Evans but typically, he is a guy that hasn’t produced this year.

In the team’s Week 7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens he had six catches for 105 yards and three touchdowns. In the eight other games this season, Evans has just one touchdown and hasn’t gone over 100 yards.

In the last two weeks he’s caught just five passes combined. Plus, the Bills look like they are trying to focus more on the running game, with back Fred Jackson receiving 20 or more carries in three of the last four games.

Evans is still worth holding onto in deeper leagues or for teams with bad receiver situations. Other than that, don’t pay much attention to his stats that were inflated by one good game.
