In my 10 years of fantasy sports experience, I have never seen such a virtuoso fantasy performance as the one Michael Vick had on Monday against the Washington Redskins.
He single-handedly saved my fantasy season when I picked him up before Week 2. Had I written this blog then, I would have definitely included him in my pickups. This week’s Pick-ups and Dumps is dedicated to No. 7 in hopes that one of these pickups may be the next Michael Vick.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Pickups
Fred Jackson - Buffalo Bills - RB
Jackson has three touchdowns in his last two games leading the Bills to their first win this season. It took me 10 weeks to look like a genius for drafting him over CJ Spiller.
Jon Kitna - Dallas Cowboys - QB
Jason Garrett’s first game as head coach may bring fantasy relevance to Jon Kitna, as evident by Kitna’s three passing touchdowns and 327 passing yards on Sunday.
Tyler Thigpen - Miami Dolphins - QB
With Henne and Pennington hurt, Thigpen will get to start this Thursday. Thigpen came up big during 2008 fantasy playoffs and he will get a chance to help fantasy teams again this year. He is a mobile QB who can help the Dolphins open up the running game. With the Dolphins hoping to get any spark on offense indicated by the benching of Henne last week—Thigpen may keep the job if his audition goes well.
Mike Thomas - Jacksonville Jaguars - WR
Thomas recorded 149 yards receiving and a touchdown on Sunday. With two touchdowns in his last two games, he may be the Mike Sims-Walker of this fantasy season, replacing Sims-Walker as the top wide receiver on his team.
Keiland Williams - Washington Redskins - RB
1) Ryan Torain indicated after Monday night's game that he will have to see a doctor about his hamstring injury this week. - Rotoworld
2) Clinton Portis sucks.
Troy Smith - San Francisco 49ers - QB
Troy Smith had a very strong performance Sunday. The 49ers are committed to him as the new QB and he really looked good on the last TD drive that put the 49ers up by three. Facing 3rd-and-23 after a Vernon Davis TD got called back, the Rams D took away the long routes and Smith dumped two consecutive passes to Frank Gore and eventually got the first down.
With all the offensive weapons in San Francisco, Troy can keep the 49ers and your playoffs hopes alive. He also has a relatively easy schedule the rest of the season.
Dumps
Pierre Garçon - Indianapolis Colts - WR
Garçon had little fantasy impact despite injuries to fellow wide receivers Austin Collie and Blair White.
Jonathan Stewart - Carolina Panthers - RB
Stewart had zero touchdowns on Sunday because he was out with a concussion. That was only two fewer touchdowns than he had all season.
Brent Celek - Philadelphia Eagles - TE
Celek is one of Kevin Kolb’s favorite targets, but Kolb can’t help Celek now because there is definitely not a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia anymore.
