Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
Round One: Dylan Mcilrath (Defense)— In 20 games this season with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL, Mcilrath has scored two goals and five assists; totaling seven points. Mcilrath has also piled up 41 penalty minutes for the Warriors.
Sadly, Mcilrath was recently injured during a game (Knee), and will receive an MRI sometime Tuesday afternoon.
Round Two: Christian Thomas (Right Wing)— Thomas has played 18 games this season for the Oshawa Generals of the OHL. In the 18 games he has scored an impressive 12 goals, 11 assists, and 23 points.
Thomas continues to impress with his offensive skill, as he leads the Generals in each offensive category.
Round Four: Andrew Yogan (Center)— Yogan has yet to play a game this season due to injury.
Round Five: Jason Wilson (Left Wing)- Wilson has played 19 games for the Niagara IceDogs this season, and in 19 games he has scored six goals, three assists, nine points, and a whopping 23 penalty minutes.
Round Six: Jesper Fasth (Right Wing)— In 14 games this season for the HV71 Jonkoping of the Swedish Elite League, Fasth has scored one goal and one assist; totaling two points.
Round Seven: Randy McNaught (Right Wing)— McNaught has played eight games this season for the Vancouver Giants of the WHL. In eight games he has scored one goal, one assist, and he has totaled 27 penalty minutes.
McNaught was recently injured, and remains one of the many injured Rangers prospects. He is expected to return before the end of the WHL season, though.
Connecticut Whale
Mats Zuccarello (Right Wing)— Zuccarello has played 17 games in the AHL so far, and in 17 games he has totaled six goals and two assists.
Zuccarello is developing well to the North American game.
Ryan McDonagh (Defense)— In 17 games McDonagh has had trouble transferring to the professional game. He has one assists this season for the Whale, and has struggled defensively so far.
Pavel Valentenko (Defense)— Like McDonagh, Valentenkos offensive play has been very strong. He has totaled one assist in 17 games for the Whale this season, but he has not struggled on defense as much as McDonagh has.
Both Valentenko and McDonagh will likely remain in the AHL for the remainder of the season, but Zuccarello may be called-up if anymore injuries occur to Ranger forwards.
College
Chris Kreider (Center)— In 10 games this season for Boston College, Kreider has totaled three goals and three assists.
That's all for this months update.
