NFL Power Rankings Week 11: Are Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles Best NFC Team?

Matt RudnitskyNov 16, 2010

The NFL Power Rankings for Week 11 are here.

And after Michael Vick's incredible stat line for the Philadelphia Eagles in their Monday Night Football win over the Washington Redskins, they received a major shakeup.

The New England Patriots also impressed by taking out the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the New York Jets barely escaped the Cleveland Browns and the New York Giants fell to a rejuvenated Dallas Cowboys squad.

The Atlanta Falcons were everybody's top team in the NFL after beating the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, but what should we make of the Eagles domination?

32. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are awful.

At least Matt Moore's injury allows them to find out whether Jimmy Clausen (if he isn't too badly concussed) is their quarterback of the future.

And if he can't play, bring on Armanti Edwards!

31. Detroit Lions

The Lions aren't the 2nd-worst team in the league, but they have that Detroit luck (or lack thereof) emanating through their veins.

They just can't catch a break.

30. Buffalo Bills

The Bills are finally off the schneid.

I guess the Lions are the only team with worse luck than Buffalo.

GLENDALE, AZ - NOVEMBER 14: Quarterback Derek Anderson #3 of the Arizona Cardinals walks off the field after a third down sack in the fourth quarter against the Seattle Seahawks at University of Phoenix Stadium on November 14, 2010 in Glendale, Arizona.

The Cardinals have lost four in a row, their defense isn't performing, Beanie Wells is always banged up, and they're starting Derek Anderson.

Ouch.

28 Cincinnati Bengals

The 2-7 Bengals are the garbage time kings of 2010.

They love to fall behind early, tease you with a comeback, but lose in the end.

And don't let Carson Palmer's numbers fool you; he's been awful this year.

27. Minnesota Vikings

Can they fire Childress already?

26. San Francisco 49ers

The Niners have won two in a row since Troy Smith took over.

But they've beaten the Broncos and Rams; let's not get too excited.

25. Dallas Cowboys

Beating the Giants was certainly impressive, but they're 2-7.

Maybe if Romo was still playing they'd be ranked higher, but Jon Kitna?

"C'mon, man!"

24. Washington Redskins

It's hard to believe the Redskins actually beat the Eagles earlier this season.

23. Houston Texans

The Texans are better than this, but they needed that win against Jacksonville.

They're 4-5, with the Jets, Titans, and Eagles coming up.

Houston will be lucky to be 5-7 in a few weeks.

22. Denver Broncos

49 points? Where did that come from?

Let's not overrate the Broncos, though, after one impressive performance.

And don't forget the Oakland game.

21. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City looked really bad getting blown out by Denver, but they're tied for the division lead, with games against Arizona and Seattle coming up.

The Chiefs better win those two games or they're in serious  trouble.

20. Cleveland Browns

A win over the Saints, then the Patriots, and then a heartbreaking OT-loss to the Jets.

Imagine if they pulled last week's game off.

19. St. Louis Rams

That was a big loss against San Francisco.

But they're still only one game out of the division lead.

That's the NFC West for you!

18. Seattle Seahawks

Meet the worst division leader in the NFL: the Seattle Seahawks.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars

I'm not sure how they keep winning with that defense and a mediocre offense, but they're 5-4 nonetheless.

16. Oakland Raiders

The Raiders lead the AFC West and have won three straight (over the Broncos, Seahawks, and Chiefs).

But let's see them take out Pittsburgh and Miami the next two weeks before we rank them any higher.

15. Tennessee Titans

18 of 32
MIAMI - NOVEMBER 14: Running back Chris Johnson #28 of the Tennessee Titans scores a touchdown against Chris Clemons #30 of the Miami Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium on November 14, 2010 in Miami, Florida. (Photo by Marc Serota/Getty Images)

The Titans are coming to a make-or-break point of their season at 5-4, playing the Redskins, Texans, and Jaguars the next three weeks.

If they can't win at least two out of three, they'll go into a free-fall.

14. Miami Dolphins

Tyler Thigpen is better than people think.

And you've really got to feel for Chad Pennington, that was just a shame.

13. Chicago Bears

I just don't trust Jay Cutler (or Matt Forte).

But this defense is for real.

12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

They haven't shown anything to prove they aren't an elite team, but they're going to have to beat someone good eventually if they want to be considered contenders.

It almost happened against Atlanta, but not quite.

But seriously, what's their best win?

Was it the win over the Browns? Bengals? Rams?

Your guess is as good as mine.

11. San Diego Chargers

They've won two in a row, and Norv Turner and Co. are waking up from their annual first-half hibernation.

And don't forget, they've been storing a whole lot of Vincent Jackson in their stomachs to help them make it through the winter.

10. Indianapolis Colts

With the Patriots and Chargers coming up, it's time for Peyton to show how good he really is.

The Colts are really banged up, but if Peyton can come through these next two weeks, we'll know that Indy is a Super Bowl contender.

But seriously, who has he been throwing to the past few weeks?

Mike Vanderjagt?

9. Green Bay Packers

The win over the Jets was impressive, but that was probably due more to the Jets ineptitude than the Packers' greatness.

They're good, but losses to the Bears, Redskins, and Dolphins aren't helping their cause.

8. Pittsburgh Steelers

25 of 32
PITTSBURGH - NOVEMBER 14: Ben Roethlisberger #7 of the Pittsburgh Steelers throws a pass against the New England Patriots on November 14, 2010 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Chris McGrath/Getty Images)

The Steelers have lost to the Ravens, Saints, and Patriots.

They're good, but it seems like they're clearly in the second-tier of NFL teams.

7. New York Giants

If only there were a cure to turnover-itis...

6. Baltimore Ravens

They really should have beaten the Falcons...

And if they want to fulfill their potential, they need to get Ray Rice more involved.

5. Atlanta Falcons

28 of 32

The Falcons look great at 7-2, but don't forget they could have easily lost their past two games (against the Bucs and Ravens).

4. New Orleans Saints

29 of 32
CHARLOTTE, NC - NOVEMBER 07: Drew Brees #9 of the New Orleans Saints against the Carolina Panthers during their game at Bank of America Stadium on November 7, 2010 in Charlotte, North Carolina. (Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images)

The Saints may not have played this week, but before the bye it looked like they were finally coming around.

And with Reggie Bush getting ready to return, watch out, NFL.

3. New England Patriots

30 of 32
PITTSBURGH - NOVEMBER 14: Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots throws a pass against the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 14, 2010 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Chris McGrath/Getty Images)

The Pats looked great in beating Pittsburgh, but I'm still not sold on their defense.

Let's see them beat Indy next week, and avenge their loss to the Jets in Week 13 before we go too crazy.

2. New York Jets

31 of 32

It just seems like one of those seasons where they have everything going for them, even if they haven't looked great every week.

1. Philadelphia Eagles

They're coming off a win over Indianapolis and now the massacre of the Redskins, so for now, they have to be considered the best team in the NFL.

And if Vick continues to play he did like last night; the Eagles will be unstoppable.
