Inside the numbers:

  • If Denver made Matt Cassel look like Joe Montana, Philip Rivers should be doing a Dan Fouts impersonation this week.
  • Peyton Manning has 32 touchdowns in 15 career games against New England. Most of those games the Pats had a much better pass defense than they do now. Peyton and Rivers are really 1A & 1B this week.
  • Jon Kitna and the Cowboys made the Giants look bad. They had a hard time containing the explosive Dez Bryant. The Birds have as many explosive players (Vick, McCoy, DeSean, Maclin) as any team in the league. Look for a big game from Vick.
***Update*** After Michael Vick's dissection of the Redskins, I bumped him up to #2.
  • The Vikings are toast. Look for Aaron Rodgers coming out of the bye to lead Brett Favre’s eulogy.
  • Tom Brady showed he can still produce AM (After Moss). He has 17 touchdowns in eight games.
  • The Cowboys are talented and the change to Jason Garrett was rewarded. Look for Kitna to put up big numbers against his former team.
  • The Raiders are tied for second in passing yards allowed per game (184.8), but have allowed 16 passing TDs. Big Ben remains a decent QB1.
