Taylor Dent officially retired earlier this week, but he's back in the game vying for top honors with World No. 1 Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. No, Dent hasn't finagled a farewell wild card into the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals. Dent's demeanor has earned him a spot with the world's premier players.

Dent , Federer, Nadal and Marin Cilic are the nominees for the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, which are part of the 2010 ATP World Tour Awards.

Hall of Famer Stefan Edberg won the award five times and was so highly regarded the ATP named the award after him. Federer has earned the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship award five times as well and Edberg, who was on hand to see Federer win the Stockholm Open last month says the Swiss stylist is an ideal ambassador for the sport.

"I saw him the first time when he was 16 as a junior and I said hello to him. And I saw him one time when I was presenting the award to Nadal when he beat Roger in the final," Edberg said.

"Then I met him last week in Stockholm in a tournament and he's a great guy. Just talking to him it seems like you've known him for a long time. He's very smooth and easygoing so I think he's a great, great, great guy for tennis in general, I think both on and off the court."

You can vote for ATP Fan Favorite Singles Player and Doubles team here. Voting deadline is November 17.

A resurgent Mardy Fish, Washington DC champion David Nalbandian, Dutchman Robin Haase and Kei Nishikori are the nominees for Comeback Player of the Year, an award Fish won in 2006. Nishikori earned Newcomer of the Year honors in 2008.
