NFL Fantasy Football Week 10 Sleepers: Shaun Hill, Shonn Greene and More
During the bye weeks, you often have to roll out less-than-ideal lineups, especially when your players are nicked up. That’s the nature of the beast. Sometimes you need a fantasy gem to be successful.
Here are some of the under-the-radar players that could possibly pull out a win for you.
Shaun Hill, QB, Detroit Lions
It’s starting to look like Shaun Hill is going to get the start for the Lions this week. He was very effective before breaking his arm and with Calvin Johnson and emerging Brandon Pettigrew and Nate Burleson, Hill could be a sneaky fill-in against Buffalo for those missing Rivers, Rodgers or Brees this week.
Shonn Greene, RB, New York Jets
LaDainian Tomlinson has been very active in the passing game the past two weeks, but has struggled running the ball (3.2 yards per carry). Shonn Greene is over a full yard better per carry (4.3) over the same stretch. Is this the point of the year where the Jets lighten LT’s workload? Greene could be in for a big game against the suddenly hot Cleveland Browns.
Brandon Jacobs, RB, New York Giants
Ahmad Bradshaw had two short touchdown runs (2, 4) that Jacobs often gets. It was early on in the blowout. I can see Eli and company setting the tone early with Jacobs finishing the Boys off.
Mike Thomas, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Thomas caught four passes for 41 yards and a score against Dallas prior to last week’s bye. Coming out of the break, he takes on Houston’s league worst pass defense, making him an interesting play.
Nate Burleson, WR, Detroit Lions
Before hearing that Shaun Hill was likely to play this week, I was down on Burleson, who has three touchdowns in the past four games. With Hill under center, Burleson could continue his recent hot streak.
Heath Miller, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers
I don’t know what to make of the Patriots. I thought they were one of the best teams in the league, before they got pounded by the Browns. I think they come out firing, and Big Ben will need to utilize all of his weapons in what could be a shootout.
Seattle Seahawks Defense
Seattle has not played good defense in recent weeks. That could easily change this week when they take on Arizona. Look for multiple sacks and possibly multiple interceptions.
