Week 10 Fantasy Football Rankings: Running Backs

Bruno Boys Fantasy FootballNov 10, 2010

Hang on fantasy football owners; all we need to do is get through Week 10—the last week of the dreaded byes—and then we can field our full rosters for the rest of the season.

In terms of running backs, the Week 10 bye doesn't feature very many players who have made huge fantasy impacts this season. Green Bay's Brandon Jackson, San Diego Chargers' Mike Tolbert, and New Orleans Saints' Pierre Thomas (who hasn't played a down since Week 3) are a few of the backs who are off in Week 10. The good news is that there are plenty of talented backs in our Week 10 Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings that are ready to put up some big points this week.

**RANKINGS BASED ON STANDARD SCORING - 1 POINT PER 25 PASSING YARDS, 1 POINT PER 10 YARDS RUSHING, 4 POINTS ALL PASSING TOUCHDOWNS, -2 POINTS ALL TURNOVERS**

1. Arian Foster (Houston Texans) @ Jacksonville
What more can this guy do?

Foster absolutely tore apart the San Diego Chargers defense on Sunday for 127 yards and two touchdowns on the ground while adding another 70 yards through the air. It’s the third time this season that Foster scored more than 30 fantasy points and the fifth in which he’s scored over 20. Foster gets to have his fun in Week 10 against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that’s allowed 11 rushing touchdowns already this season…enjoy.
Point Projection: 24 points

2. Chris Johnson (Tennessee Titans) @ Miami

The biggest news during the Titans’ bye week came when the team acquired Randy Moss off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings. It will be interesting to see how Moss’ presence will affect CJ, but he’ll likely benefit since defenses won’t be able to stuff the box against him with Moss lurking around out there. Johnson’s 4.1 YPC average is disappointing, yet at the halfway point of the season, he's rushed for 721 yards and eight touchdowns. Johnson should benefit from the acquisition of Moss and find plenty of running room against the Miami Dolphins this week.
Point Projection: 20 points

3. Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings) @ Chicago

It was another day at the office for AP this past Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals

Peterson ran for 81 yards and to a rushing touchdown. He also scored another touchdown in the air to go along with 63 receiving yards. Peterson’s eclipsed 20 fantasy points for three straight weeks and will try to continue that trend in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears. Peterson will face a tough test against a Bears defense that’s holding opposing runners to a 3.5 YPC average and 83.9 YPG. However, the Bears have allowed nine rushing touchdowns this season. Peterson should be able to add to his total this week on his way to another double-digit fantasy game.

Point Projection: 19 points
