NFL Week 10 Picks: Predicting the Week's Biggest Upsets

Elias TrejoNov 10, 2010

As the season gets passed it's midpoint the upsets get harder and harder to predict. The underdogs are easier to point out now than they were at the start of the season.

Does everyone remember when the Cowboys or Vikings were the favorites to win games or when the Raiders and Rams were a sure loss?

I don't use the spreads when I decide who the better team is, I use common sense.

As the season progresses, picking the underdog to win gets harder and harder and my record will continue to get worse and worse.

Last week, I took a beating and I looked foolish for picking some teams to win (Seahawks) and I was close on some of my picks (Jets). I had my worst week going 1-4, and that gives me an 18-17 overall record.

Let's take a look at five upsets that could happen this week.

Browns Over Jets

Something good is going on in Cleveland. Colt McCoy and Peyton Hillis look like they are the future of the Browns. They've beat some pretty good teams this year, and another one is coming to visit.

This game will be very physical as both defenses are run by the Ryan boys.

The Jets escaped with a win in Detroit, but may not be lucky enough to do the same with the Browns.

Look for this game to be a low scoring battle with more hits than Lil' Wayne.

Browns win in a close game, 16-13

Bills Over Lions

2 of 5

The quest for imperfection continues in Buffalo. Can the Bills go 0-16? Only time will tell, but I believe their quest for imperfection will come to a tragic end against the Lions, which seems fitting.

As hard as the Bills have tried to keep their streak alive, I'm afraid it will be over. Yes, I believe the Bills are going to win a game.

What better team to get your first win of the season than the Detroit Lions, the last team to go 0-16?

The Bills will take advantage of a Matthew Stafford-less Lions team, and escape with a two-point victory, thanks to a Ndamukong Suh missed field goal late in the game.

Bills win 2-0.

Broncos Over Chiefs

Speaking of teams that can't win games, the Denver Broncos host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The Broncos are 2-6, and are in last place in the AFC West.

Look for them to jump on the Chiefs early and hold on to their lead late in the game.

It's almost time for Josh McDaniels to let Tim Tebow play, since they aren't winning with Kyle Orton.

If he doesn't put Tim Tebow in now, he may never see Tebow on the field as the head coach.

Then again if Tebow starts playing too good, McDaniels may trade him like he has with Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall and Peyton Hillis.

Broncos win 27-24.

Dolphins Over Titans

The Titans come to Miami with their new explosive toy. Randy Moss makes his debut as a Titan, and will face the Dolphins for the second time this season.

The last time he played Miami he was only targeted once and didn't have a catch, despite the Patriots' dominant win.

Look for the Dolphins to get back on track and improve to 5-4 against a very explosive Tennessee offense.

While Moss will work out fine for the Titans in the long run, they won't be able to come out with a win against the Dolphins.

Dolphins win 24-16 in front of their home crowd.

Vikings Over Bears

What kind of protection does the 76-year-old Brett Favre need against the Bears? Depends.

The Vikings are coming off a big win against the Cardinals at home. They made a valiant comeback, and are still somewhat alive in the playoff race.

The Bears host the Vikings, and are sitting at 5-3 one game behind the Green Bay Packers for the division lead.

This is a game where the Bears could position themselves for a title race against the Packers, or they could give the Vikings more life.

The Bears offensive line isn't very good, and are allowing Jay Cutler to get hit or hurried too many times.

The Vikings defensive line has been struggling, but this could be the game they needed to get their confidence up.

Look for the Vikings to sneak out of Chicago with another late comeback win.

Vikings win 23-20.
