NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Ranking the Top 32 Wide Receivers in the NFL
Week Ten has arrived in the NFL and teams are playing some really good football right now. NFL passing attacks have been putting up a lot of yards and it’s been a pretty exciting year for wide receivers all over the league. And being it was a busy week passing the ball things are sure to have changed in our weekly wide receiver power rankings.
Let’s take a look at the top 32 wide receivers in the NFL this week and see who has risen, who has fallen, who is new and who has fallen off the rankings this week.
Number 32: Eddie Royal-Denver Broncos
1 of 33
Last Week 29th-Royal, along with Gaffney and Lloyd didn’t play this week and will resume play this weekend with the Broncos.
Number 31: Kenny Britt-Tennessee Titans
2 of 33
Last Week-10th-This may be the last time we see Britt on this list for a while unless he comes back from his injury quicker than was first thought. He does make things exciting when he is on the field and it’s too bad he will miss some time. Let’s see how his replacement, Randy Moss will fare.
Number 30: Dez Bryant-Dallas Cowboys
3 of 33
Last Week: Unranked-Yes, we have a second Dallas Cowboy on the rankings this week. Bryant has been a pleasant surprise as a rookie but it’s just too bad that quarterback Tony Romo had to get hurt. Now we may not get to see Bryant’s full potential until next season.
Number 29: Lance Moore-New Orleans Saints
4 of 33
Last Week: Unranked-All Moore does is catch touchdowns and with the increase in passes being thrown to wide receivers in the Saints offense Moore is bound to see “more” balls thrown his way.
Number 28: Davone Bess-Miami Dolphins
5 of 33
Last Week: 26th: Bess would benefit from a wide open offense much like Marshall would. Perhaps he will see more passes thrown his way soon.
Number 27: Braylon Edwards-New York Jets
6 of 33
Last Week: 30th-A lot of people may wonder why Edwards is on this list but if you look at him you will see that he’s one of the most productive wide receivers (in terms of scoring) in the NFL in an offense that struggles at times to pass the ball. He deserves to be named in these power rankings.
Number 26: Chad Ochocinco-Cincinnati Bengals
7 of 33
Last Week: 21st-Ochocinco escaped the possibility of having a serious injury on Monday night and will continue to be one of two favorite targets of quarterback Carson Palmer. Let’s just hope all of this passing can equal wins at some point.
Number 25: Jabar Gaffney-Denver Broncos
8 of 33
Last Week: 32-Despite the fact that Gaffney and the Broncos didn’t play, Gaffney still moves up a little this week.
Number 24: Malcolm Floyd-San Diego Chargers
9 of 33
Last Week: 19th: Floyd has been productive for the Chargers and has helped them win some games this season. With Vincent Jackson coming back soon, the Chargers will now have two solid weapons in the passing game and could climb back on top of the AFC West.
Number 23: Percy Harvin-Minnesota Vikings
10 of 33
Last Week: Unranked-It’s about time that a Minnesota Vikings wide receiver made it onto this list and after some solid play Harvin lands on our power rankings for the first time. With the inconsistencies in Minnesota (and with his health) will he be able to hang on and stay a while?
Number 22: Johnny Knox-Chicago Bears
11 of 33
Last Week: 22nd-Knox stays at the same spot this week after not really doing much against the Buffalo Bills this past weekend but still remaining one of the most important parts of the Bears offensive game plan. Look for him to have much bigger and better games in the future.
Number 21: Larry Fitzgerald-Arizona Cardinals
12 of 33
Last Week: 23rd-You will see Fitzgerald become the most important person on the Cardinals as the season goes on and the Cardinals fight to get back on top of their division. He is one of the most reliable people on the team and will become the Cardinals quarterback’s favorite target as the season goes on.
Number 20: Steve Smith-New York Giants
13 of 33
Last Week: 16th-As the Giants passing game continues to grow so will the opportunities that Smith will get to catch the ball. Coupled with Nicks, both these guys make up one of the strongest and best passing combinations in the NFL today.
Number 19: Austin Collie-Indianapolis Colts
14 of 33
Last Week: 11th-Collie will keep on sliding down as long as he keeps staying out of games (due to an injury) and it looks like he won’t be playing in the Colts next game this weekend.
Number 18: Santana Moss-Washington Redskins
15 of 33
Last Week: 15th-Moss and the Redskins didn’t play this week but he still remains in our rankings this week.
Number 17: Mike Wallace-Pittsburgh Steelers
16 of 33
Last Week: 25th-The Steelers would not be where they are at today without Wallace in the lineup. As we saw against the Bengals on Monday night, he’s an important part of this team and should continue to be very prolific in Pittsburgh.
Number 16: Brandon Marshall-Miami Dolphins
17 of 33
Last Week 14th-The Dolphins aren’t getting as much out of Marshall or perhaps Marhsall isn’t getting much out of the Dolphins. Marshall and the Miami passing game could get much better if the coaching staff would open up the passing game a little more.
Number 15: Marques Colston-New Orleans Saints
18 of 33
Last Week: 13th-The Saints are looking more and more like the team that went to the Super Bowl last season and with their passing game looking good, guys like Colston can benefit. Expect to see a lot more production out of him before the season is over.
Number 14: Mike Williams-Tampa Bay Buccaneers
19 of 33
Last Week: 20th-The guy that many people felt would wash out of the NFL in a hurry has been a very pleasant surprise for the Bucs so far this season and has become the target for quarterback Josh Freeman in Tampa Bay.
Number 13: Steve Johnson-Buffalo Bills
20 of 33
Last Week: 12th-Johnson didn’t have any touchdown catches this Sunday but is still one of the hottest wide receivers in the NFL right now and one of three guys helping to lead what is starting to become a potent passing attack in Buffalo.
Number 12: DeSean Jackson-Philadelphia Eagles
21 of 33
Last Week: 24th-Jackson jumps back up in this weeks rankings thanks to his return to the lineup following a serious concussion. He’s one of the games biggest and brightest stars and now that he’s back the Eagles chances to win have increased.
Number 11: Jeremy Maclin-Philadelphia Eagles
22 of 33
Last Week: 5th-Maclin takes a little bit of a fall this week after he’s lost some catches to DeSean Jackson who is back after suffering a concussion. Look for Maclin to continue to play an important role on the team and continue to pile up the yards and score touchdowns.
Number 10: Andre Johnson-Houston Texans
23 of 33
Last Week: 9th-Johnson is one of the top receivers in the NFL but has been having a down year due to the fact that his quarterback hasn’t been giving him a lot of looks lately. If the Texans want to get their passing game going, they need to involve Johnson in it a lot more.
Number Nine: Greg Jennings-Green Bay Packers
24 of 33
Last Week: 18th-Jennnigs makes a good jump up the poll this week after having some strong games with the Packers and with the realization that he is not the Packers number one wide receiver. Can he and quarterback Aaron Rodgers continue to play well together and help lead their team to some big wins?
Number Eight: Calvin Johnson-Detroit Lions
25 of 33
Last Week: 7th-Poor Johnson. His quarterback, Matthew Stafford is out for the season which means we may see Johnson’s production drop as well as his standing in this poll. Just know that he is one of the better wide receivers in the NFL and hopefully he will have better days ahead once the Lions quarterback situation stabilizes.
Number Seven: Miles Austin-Dallas Cowboys
26 of 33
Last Week: 17th-Austin shoots up this list after having some good games recently with the Cowboys and, despite their problems, being one of the most consistent players on the team. He is starting to earn some of that money that he got from that contract he signed this offseason.
Number Six: Anquan Boldin-Baltimore Ravens
27 of 33
Last Week: 2nd-Bolding takes a little bit drop this week thanks to some lower production this last week but still remains one of the best in the business. If the Ravens could get him the ball more often, he could be number one on this list.
Number Five: Brandon Lloyd-Denver Broncos
28 of 33
Last Week: 4th-Lloyd and the Broncos were off on bye last week but he remains in the power rankings thanks to the important part that he plays on the Broncos. He is currently the NFL’s leader in yardage and is a very valuable part of the Bronco’s offense.
Number Four: Hakeem Nicks-New York Giants
29 of 33
Last Week-6th-Nicks continues to be one the most productive wide receivers in the NFL in one of the most productive passing offenses in the NFL. He looks like he’s headed for a Pro Bowl this season and could be All-Pro before it’s all said and done.
Number Three: Terrell Owens-Cincinnati Bengals
30 of 33
Last Week: Eighth-Owens jumps up a few spots up in the rankings this week after a nice performance in the Monday night game. Anyone who says that Owens is old and washed up had better take a look at what he has done this season. He’s still a very valuable asset as a receiver in the NFL.
Number Two: Reggie Wayne-Indianapolis Colts
31 of 33
Last Week: 3rd-Wayne inches towards the top of this poll after having become more of a go-to guy for his quarterback Peyton Manning. With all of the injuries that the Colts have had at wide receiver, his value should only grow.
Number One: Roddy White-Atlanta Falcons
32 of 33
Last Week: 1st-White continues to hold the top spot in the poll this week and may be here for a while. He has become a top wide receiver in one of the NFL’s better offenses and is very productive.
