UFC 122 Fight Card: Odds and Predictions for Every Fight

The fights will head overseas this weekend.

UFC 122 will be held Saturday at Koning Pilsener Arena in Germany. UFC President Dana White continues to try and expand his empire around the globe, and should receive a raucous reception in what should be a highly entertaining card.

The main event is a fight between middleweights Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami, the last man to defeat Anderson "Spider" Silva, considered by many the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. The winner of Marquardt-Okami is set to become the new No.1 contender in the division and be in line for a title shot in 2011.

Here is a preview of that fight, along with the four other main fights on the card.

Nate Marquardt Vs. Yushin Okami

This is a close fight, and many other fighters are split on who they favor here. Both enter with plenty of momentum: Okami has won five of his last six fights, while Marquardt is 4-1 since a split decision loss to Thales Leites in 2008.

Marquardt may try and use his strength to knock down Okami, where he could then pound away. But Okami is also good with takedowns, and has improved his boxing skills and footwork. He's also shown improvement early on in recent fights.

PREDICTION: Marquardt by split decision.

Jorge Rivera Vs. Alessio Sakara

Another matchup of two equally talented fighters.

Both are great strikers. Rivera, who is more well-rounded, has three straight wins, while Sakara has bounced back with three straight as well since losing by technical knockout to Chris Leben in UFC 82 in 2008.

Of Sakara's three wins, two have come in the first round.

Dennis Siver Vs. Andre Winner

Which one is the hungriest?

These are two desperate fighters in need of a win. Winner, the runner-up on TUF 9, suffered his first loss in three fights against Nik Lentz, who caused him all sorts of problems en route to a unanimous decision. Siver also suffered a loss by unanimous decision to Ross Pearson back in March.

Both are excellent strikers, but you've got to figure this will go the distance.

PREDICTION: Siver by majority decision. 

Amir Sadollah Vs. Peter Sobotta

Both fighters are well-rounded, but keep an eye on Sadollah, who's coming off a unanimous decision loss to Dong Hyun Kim in UFC 114 in May.

At times, Sadollah — the winner of TUF 7 — has shown flashes of potential, but has also had letdowns, as he showed against Kim. He is facing an opponent in Sobotta who is a good counter fighter and is strongest at submissions.

This could get sloppy real quickly, but once again, both would get a huge boost with a win.

PREDICTION: Sadollah by second round submission 

Krzysztof Soszynski Vs. Goran Reljic

Don't be surprised if the fans really get into this fight.

Soszynski is a native of nearby Poland, and Reljic briefly lived in Germany. Soszynski has been a pro since 2003, and says he's just now gaining confidence about his skills as a fighter.

Reljic, on the other hand, is rounding back into form after missing two years with a back injury. After coming back, he suffered back-to-back losses.

Reljic's strength come with submissions, but if Soszynski turns this into a slugfest, you've got to like his chances, especially after his two brutal fights with Stephan Bonnar, which they split.

PREDICTION: Soszynski by unanimous decision.
