Wade Phillips Fired: Who Should Be Next?
Wade Phillips is finally out of Dallas, and I’m sure there are many fans around the nation who are thinking exactly what I am: First, what took so freakin’ long? And second, who’s next? There are many speculations around the league as to who should be the next to get the ax. Here is my list, in no particular order:
Norv Turner
There is no doubt in my mind that Norv Turner does wonders with quarterbacks, but is he really a good head coach? His track record says “Hell no.” The Chargers underachieve every year, and I know many Charger fans are sick of it.
Many said Tomlinson had lost his ability to be a premier back in this league, yet look at him in New York. It wasn’t all LT’s fault—Norv’s system was also to blame.
Norv may be a good offensive coordinator, but as a head coach he can’t cut it. He is 90-98-1 as a head coach and his teams in San Diego are notorious for bad starts and playoff losses. Norv had the talent on this roster to reach the Super Bowl but he wasn’t able to get it done.
There are rumors that many Charger players have tuned out Turner. If this is the case, that locker room probably needs a new voice if they are going to meet their expectations. Norv should be on his way out if the Chargers fail to make the playoff and hopefully A.J. Smith will join Norv as well.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Mike Singletary
Now this is a no-brainer. Singletary is great motivational speaker, but he is just an awful coach. He has no specialty when it comes to football. He doesn’t have any unique ideas to improve the defense, and his stubbornness is holding the offense back. At 2-6, the 49ers are pretty much guaranteed to miss the playoffs even with all the talented players on the team.
If you can’t win with Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree and a solid defense led by Patrick Willis, then maybe you can’t win at all. I agree that Alex Smith has something to do with this, but Singletary fails to prepare his team properly and is so predictable.
Singletary isn’t even a polished coach and acts like a barbarian with his players. There should never be an instance where a coach chews out his quarterback on the sidelines mid-game. The 49ers need to bring a coach with a specialty on offense or defense. Singletary needs to go. It may not be a good idea to do it midseason but it has to be done right when the season ends.
Brad Childress
Childress continues to dig his own grave. He got into arguments with his Hall of Fame quarterback, and now he is having heated exchanges with their best receiver? Ironically, Childress will hold onto his job a little while longer because of the great performances by Brett Favre and Percy Harvin this past week.
Childress has worn out his welcome, and the poor play of this talented team says enough. They’ve tuned out their head coach, and in order to keep this team afloat next season a replacement is a necessity.
After the heated exchange with Percy Harvin last week, a source close to the team said that a teammate told Harvin, “You just did what a lot of us have been wanting to say for years.” If that doesn’t convince anyone that Childress should be fired, then I don’t know what will.
This is just an opinion…so please Pardon My Bias.
