Diego Armando Maradona may be visiting Iran soon, according to the Abbas Torabian, who is the head of the Iranian Football Federation International Committee.

The possible visit comes in the light of rumors (which have been denied) of Maradona coaching the Iranian national football team in the future.

The president of the Iranian National Football Federation, Ali Kashaffian, has been denying the rumors of Maradona coaching Iran, with the statement that he "is just visiting the country."

He states that the only thing that Maradona wants to do is meet with the Iranian political leaders.

It has been a dream of Maradona to visit Iran and has even given one of his shirts to "the Iranian nation." The President of Iran later thanked him for the gesture.

Maradona is not the only personality from Latin America who has visited Iran recently. The President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, visited the country and played football with his counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at a stadium in Tehran.

Included in the tour was a training session for Evo Morales with the team Teraktorsazi in the city of Tabriz. It remains to be seen how this will be playing itself out.

In returning to the subject of Maradona visiting Iran, a lot of questions and comments have been mentioned here in Miami, Fla.

The people discuss among themselves saying that Maradona may be embarking on a public relations tour for the Argentine national football/soccer team; the other comments center around Maradona coaching Iran.

It remains to be seen what will transpire when and if Maradona decides to visit Iran.
