Watch Dolphins' Channing Crowder Go Nuts: Was He Spit On?

Sam WestmorelandNov 8, 2010

Miami Dolphins' linebacker Channing Crowder went absolutely bonkers after his team's 26-10 waxing at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Crowder was livid in the locker room, claiming Ravens running back Le'Ron McClain spit on him during a play in the third quarter. Let's take a look at Crowder's meltdown and whether or not his case has merit.

The Incident

Here we see the incident in question, and it looks an awful lot like McClain does, in fact, spit in Crowder's face, causing the linebacker's fury after the game, which he vented to the media.

Crowder's Meltdown

In the postgame interview, Crowder is clearly still upset, spewing obscenities and telling McClain to watch his back. The Ravens seem much less angered by the claims, denying that Le'Ron did anything of the sort Crowder's saying he did.

If Crowder's claims are false, then everything that the Ravens said about him in that clip is completely true. He has a reputation of a trash-talker, despite his mid-level status amongst NFL linebackers. The league should fine Crowder if they determine that McClain didn't spit on him.

But what if he did? If McClain did hock a loogie on Crowder, throw the book at him. Spitting is one of the dirtiest things a player can do to another player, and if Le'Ron did it, he deserves a suspension.

The league has said that they are reviewing the tape from Sunday's game and will decide whether to fine or suspend either player sometime this week.
