Week 10 NFL Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Advice: Get 'em or Don't Sweat 'em

Ryan LesterNov 8, 2010

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are.

Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.

Mike Goodson, Carolina Panthers

The Panthers RBs are dropping like flies. You should have an idea who will be available next week if you have a roster freeze until Wednesday.

If it looks like Goodson will be the primary ball carrier, put a bid in for him. If not, look elsewhere.

If you can pick up a player today, grab Goodson if you have a player who you can drop.

Ruling: Get ‘em (if it looks like D-Will & J-Stew can’t play).

Javarris James, Indianapolis Colts

James did his best Edge impersonation by scoring two touchdowns.

Unfortunately, he had just 12 yards on four carries.

Joseph Addai should return soon, meaning Javarris probably isn’t much of a fantasy option.

Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Wide Receivers

Earl Bennett, Chicago Bears

Bennett caught four passes for 52 yards and a score. He had 76 yards in the Bears’ game prior to last week’s bye.

He becoming a bigger part of their offense, but still isn’t a viable option, especially with the byes coming to an end after next week.

Ruling: Don’t Sweat ’em.

Nate Burleson, Detroit Lions

Burleson caught seven passes for 113 yards and a score.

He has a touchdown in three of his last four games.

Ruling: Get ‘em.

Brian Hartline, Miami Dolphins

Hartline caught four passes for 85 yards.

He hasn’t been scoring, but he’s averaging 4.5 catches in his last four games.

Ruling: Get ‘em (PPR) & Don’t Sweat ‘em (Non-PPR).

Seyi Ajirotutu, San Diego Chargers

Ajirotutu is a player we called out in our sneaky Week 10 pickup article prior to yesterday’s game.

He delivered catching four passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

The Chargers are on bye next week and the Chargers WRs will be getting healthy, but he could have a bigger role going forward.

Ruling: Get ‘em.

Jacoby Ford, Oakland Raiders

Ford exploded on the scene with six catches for 148 yards.

He added a kick return touchdown. While he was instrumental in the Raiders overtime victory over the Chiefs, he’s a player I would have to see have some more big games before I added him.

Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.

James Jones, Green Bay Packers

Jones has two goose eggs in his last four games, but has two 100+ yard games, including 123 yards and a score in the Sunday night game.

They go on bye next week and Driver should be back, but clearly he has the ability.

Consistency is an issue.

I don’t have the stomach for his inconsistency, but I wouldn’t fault you if you wanted to gamble on him.

Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Tight Ends

Randy McMichael, San Diego Chargers

McDaniels caught a couple of TD passes against Houston.

The Chargers are on bye and Antonio Gates will be back after the break.

Ruling: Don’t Sweat ’em.
