Tim Thomas, Boston Bruins Shut Down Fantasy NHL’s Week 5 Hot Players
There are some familiar faces in this edition of the hot fantasy players of the NHL season.
However, this week we see some unexpected and arguably unknown players.
Increasing consistency by rising stars of the league is noticeable in this week’s edition.
Here are five players that need to be inserted into fantasy lineups immediately or put on a fantasy owners’ watch list as they could continue to explode.
Center Derick Brassard, Columbus Blue Jackets
1 of 5
The young skater is having one of the best weeks of his short career.
Simply put, Brassard is filling up the stat sheet.
He has scored three goals on 14 shot attempts. He is plus-one plus/minus and holds a record in assists.
After only recording one point in the first six games, Brassard has now recorded at least one point in six straight games. Brassard is a player to have on your radar after this performance.
Left Wing Raffi Torres, Vancouver Canucks
2 of 5
An unexpected appearance, but deserving nonetheless.
In the past week, the veteran Torres has at least one point in each game.
On November 2nd, Torres completed the hat trick. In the other two games, Torres has a goal in each, giving him five for the week.
He is plus-two plus/minus with 11 shots attempted.
Torres is a player to keep an eye on to see if this is just a fluke or if he can keep this scoring up.
Right Wing Jeff Carter, Philadelphia Flyers
3 of 5
One of the better young players in the league, Jeff Carter is doing it all for the Flyers.
He has scored two goals on 16 shot attempts in the past week. He has three assists and an amazing plus-four plus/minus.
Carter is filling up the stat sheet for his fantasy owners. He should finish as one of the top of his position this season if healthy.
Defenseman Duncan Keith, Chicago Blackhawks
4 of 5
One of the top defenseman in the league, Keith is getting into a groove.
Over the past week, Keith has scored a goal on 14 shot attempts. More importantly, he has tallied an outstanding six assists.
Although he is minus-two plus/minus, those six assists are quite the difference maker from a defenseman.
Goalie Tim Thomas, Boston Bruins
5 of 5
Thomas has been superb this season, starting 7-0-0 with three shut outs.
In his last two starts, Thomas has a shutout. He gave up two goals in his last start but still got the win.
Over the last week, Thomas has two wins, averaging just one goal against with a .969 save percentage.
Thomas shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.
