Miami Dolphins Alumni Update: October 2010

Here are all the pro football transactions involving former Miami Dolphins players from October 2010:

• Oct. 1—The Toronto Argonauts (CFL) transferred quarterback Cleo Lemon to the injured list. Lemon spent three seasons (2005 to 2007) with the Dolphins after being acquired from the San Diego Chargers, appearing in 13 games (eight starts) and throwing for 2,185 yards and eight touchdowns with seven interceptions.
• Oct. 2—The Calgary Stampeders (CFL) activated defensive end Mike Labinjo from the reserve list and transferred linebacker Robert McCune to the reserve list. Labinjo was a linebacker for the Dolphins in 2005 and 2006, but did not appear in a game.
• Oct. 4—The New York Jets placed wide receiver Patrick Turner on waivers. A third-round pick by the Dolphins in 2009, Turner appeared in two games as a rookie and did not catch a pass. He was waived prior to the 2010 season.
• Oct. 4—The Omaha Nighthawks (UFL) released defensive end Charles Grant. Grant spent the 2010 preseason with the Dolphins and recorded four tackles, but was release during final cuts.
• Oct. 5—The Chicago Bears signed defensive end Charles Grant to a contract.
• Oct. 5—The Oakland Raiders released cornerback Joey Thomas from injured reserve. Thomas appeared in six games for the Dolphins in 2008 and recorded four tackles.
• Oct. 6—The Minnesota Vikings signed offensive tackle Andrew Gardner to their practice squad. Drafted by the Dolphins in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft, Gardner appeared in one game as a rookie but was waived before the 2010 regular season.
• Oct. 6—The New York Jets re-signed wide receiver Patrick Turner to their practice squad.
• Oct. 6—The Montreal Alouettes (CFL) signed wide receiver Brandon London to their practice roster. London spent the entire 2008 season with the Dolphins, appearing in 14 games (one start) and catching three passes for 30 yards.
• Oct. 7—The Calgary Stampeders (CFL) signed linebacker Siddeeq Shabazz to their practice roster. Shabazz spent the 2006 offseason with the Dolphins before being waived in August.
• Oct. 8—The Toronto Argonauts (CFL) activated quarterback Cleo Lemon from the injured list.
• Oct. 10—The Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL) transferred wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullen to the reserve list. Grice-Mullen attended training camp with the Dolphins in 2010, but was waived during the preseason.
• Oct. 11—The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released linebacker J. D. Folsom from their practice squad. A seventh-round pick by the Dolphins in 2009, Folsom appeared in two games as a rookie and recorded one tackle.
• Oct. 12—The Detroit Lions waived defensive tackle Joe Cohen from injured reserve. Cohen spent part of the 2008 season on the Dolphins' practice squad and attended training camp with the team in 2009.
• Oct. 12—The Minnesota Vikings released tight end John Nalbone from their practice squad. Selected by the Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft, Nalbone split time between the active roster and practice squad as a rookie and did not appear in a game. He played in two games for the Dolphins in 2010 before being waived.
• Oct. 12—The Pittsburgh Power (AFL) signed offensive lineman Mike Byrne to a contract. Byrne attended training camp with the Dolphins in 2008, but was waived during final cuts.
• Oct. 12—The Calgary Stampeders (CFL) activated defensive end Robert McCune from the reserve list and transferred defensive end Tearrius George to the reserve list. McCune spent part of the 2006 season with the Dolphins but did not appear in a game. George spent the 2009 offseason with the Dolphins before being released in August.
• Oct. 12—The Las Vegas Locomotives (UFL) signed cornerback Kevin Hobbs to a contract. Hobbs spent part of the 2010 preseason with the Dolphins, but did not make the team.
• Oct. 14—The Dallas Cowboys signed offensive tackle Jermey Parnell off the Saints' practice squad. The Dolphins claimed Parnell off waivers from the Saints in September 2010, but waived him after two games.
• Oct. 15—The Edmonton Eskimos (CFL) activated wide receiver Kelly Campbell from the injured list. Campbell was an offseason member of the Dolphins in 2006 and 2007, but did not appear in a game.
• Oct. 16—The Calgary Stampeders (CFL) promoted linebacker Siddeeq Shabazz from their practice roster and transferred defensive end Mike Labinjo to the injured list.
• Oct. 16—The Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL) signed offensive lineman Marion Dukes to their practice roster. Dukes signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2007, but he elected to leave the team and return to school that July. The Dolphins waived him from the Reserve/Retired list in the 2008 offseason.
• Oct. 17—The Hartford Colonials (UFL) placed offensive tackle Rueben Riley on the reserve list. Riley was with the Dolphins in training camp in 2008, joining the team on July 26 and being waived Aug. 3.
• Oct. 18—The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL) signed wide receiver Chris Williams to their practice roster. Williams signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2009, but was waived with an injury settlement on Aug. 25 after breaking his wrist during the preseason.
• Oct. 18—The Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL) activated wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullen from the reserve list.
• Oct. 18—The Hartford Colonials (UFL) released wide receiver Taurus Johnson. Johnson spent part of the 2009 season on the Dolphins' practice squad and was waived during the 2010 preseason.
• Oct. 19—The Chicago Bears terminated the contract of defensive end Charles Grant.
• Oct. 19—The Seattle Seahawks signed linebacker Chris McCoy to their practice squad. McCoy was drafted by the Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft, but was waived during final cuts.
• Oct. 20—The Denver Broncos signed tight end John Nalbone to their practice squad.
• Oct. 20—The Detroit Lions signed linebacker Bobby Carpenter to a contract. Carpenter spent five games (two starts) with the Dolphins to begin the 2010 season, recording 10 tackles.
• Oct. 21—The Tampa Bay Storm (AFL) have signed wide receiver Kerry Reed to a contract. Reed played in one game for the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2007, but did not catch a pass.
• Oct. 22—The Toronto Argonauts (CFL) promoted defensive end Ben Ishola from their practice roster. Ishola was signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2006, but waived during final cuts on Sept. 2.
• Oct. 23—The Baltimore Ravens activated linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo from the PUP list. Ayanbadejo played 32 games for the Dolphins from 2003 to 2004, totaling 57 tackles and one interception.
• Oct. 26—The New York Jets placed nose tackle Howard Green on waivers. Green spent the 2006 offseason with the Dolphins before being waived in August.
• Oct. 26—The Seattle Seahawks released linebacker Chris McCoy from their practice squad.
• Oct. 26—The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed tight end Nathan Overbay to their practice squad. Overbay spent one week on the Dolphins' practice squad in September 2010.
• Oct. 26—The Jacksonville Sharks (AFL) have signed wide receiver/defensive back Scorpio Babers to a contract. Babers spent part of the 2008 season on the Dolphins' practice squad.
• Oct. 27—The Arizona Cardinals signed linebacker J. D. Folsom to their practice squad.
• Oct. 27—The Green Bay Packers claimed nose tackle Howard Green off waivers and signed linebacker Erik Walden to a contract.Walden played part of three seasons for the Dolphins from 2008 to 2010, totaling 13 tackles in 19 games.
• Oct. 27—The New York Jets signed cornerback Will Billingsley to their practice squad. Billingsley spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons on the Dolphins' practice squad.
• Oct. 28—The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed defensive tackle Rodrique Wright to their practice roster. A seventh-round pick by the Dolphins out of Texas in 2006, Wright appeared in 13 games (nine starts) over three seasons with the team, recording 28 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
• Oct. 29—The Jacksonville Sharks (AFL) signed defensive back Ross Weaver to a contract.Weaver appeared in two preseason games with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2010, recording one tackle and one pass deflection. He was waived during final cuts.
• Oct. 30—The Calgary Stampeders (CFL) transferred linebacker Siddeeq Shabazz to the reserve list.
