AAA Texas 500 Weekend: Fun-Filled Weekend Set at Texas Motor Speedway

Steven IlesNov 5, 2010

Good Morning from Texas Motor Speedway. Today will be first full day that all three racing series will be on the track for AAA Texas 500 Weekend.

First on track will be the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the first practice session, followed by the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for the first practice session at 4:10 p.m. ET.

But, the day is not over yet. It’s just getting better.

We will have NSCS Qualifying at 4:40 p.m. ET, NNS Qualifying at 6:35 p.m. ET, and the night will conclude with the NCWTS WinStar World Casino 350K at 9:00 p.m. ET.

There is going to be lots of excitement here this weekend at TMS. Kyle Busch is looking widen his lead in the Owners Championship for the NCWTS. Busch currently leads Germain Racing and the No. 30 Todd Bodine Valvoline Toyota by 42 points.

To make it even more interesting, Busch is starting in the third position on Row 2 while Bodine will be starting in the fifth position on Row 3.

In the NNS Brad Keselowski is looking to lock-up the Series Championship, he currently leads Carl Edwards by 485 points. But, to throw a little bit of irony in the fire, if Kyle Busch in the 18 Z-Line Designs/Conn’s Toyota can win tomorrow night at TMS in the O’Rilly Auto Parts Challenge, he will widen Joe Gibbs' lead over Penske Racing South and Keselowski in the Owners Championship.

Finally, in the NSCS, what can be said? We are looking at the closest points lead we have seen since the inception of the Chase format.

Jimmy Johnson currently leads Denny Hamlin by 14 points while Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are looking to capture their first wins of the season.
