Matt Morgan's Face Turn Was Actually a Good Idea
A few weeks back, Jeff Hardy struck Mr. Anderson in the back of the head with the chair. By accident, Hardy cracked Anderson too hard, leaving a huge gash on Anderson's head. The guy was lying in a pool of his own blood. No storyline involved, Anderson suffered a concussion.
With Anderson out of action for at least a few weeks, RVD inserted into conflict with EV2, The World Title match at Turning Point hadn't come together. But TNA surprised me and a lot other fans. They turned a real-life situation into a great storyline.
We all know the effect of concussions on pro athletes, especially pro wrestlers. TNA had the Blueprint, Matt Morgan, turn on Fourtune for the safety of a fellow Superstar. He might have payed dearly for it later that night, but Morgan was no longer working as a enforcer.
Like he has for Cornette before. Morgan seems to finally be back on Management's good side. He's back at the Main Event level.
Frankly, he deserves to be there.
Matt Morgan is a predator. He plans to prey on the Charismatic Enigma, Jeff Hardy.
I praise TNA for this last minute decision. No one else suited the bill. Desmond Wolfe is out with an "injury." He and Morgan are two of the most talented guys on the TNA roster. While their attitude's may have delayed the ascension to the Main Event card, the world title was always in their future.
Now, he's got a world title match this Sunday. Jeff Hardy is indeed one of my favorites. But like I've said a thousand times before, it's not a good idea to place the title on him. He's got multiple drug charges pending against him.
If he goes to jail, TNA would have to make a last-minute decision on the world title. The Immortal Storyline has drawn my interest in recent weeks, but without Hogan and Hardy appearing on TNA programming, what would it be?
Exactly. I say place the title on Morgan. Just to be safe. Establish the guy as a "decent" world champion. A fighting world champion, basically.
I don't think Hardy's wrestled since winning the TNA title.
