Los Angeles Angels Insider.com's Scotty Allen takes a look at the current crop of free agents and where they may end up.

With the understanding that I neither possess a crystal ball, nor have any possible way of validating my “hunches,” I present to you, my 2011 Free Agent Destinations.

Let’s all keep in mind, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary if I got all of these wrong.  The baseball offseason has turned into an exciting soap opera for baseball enthusiasts and is jam-packed with unpredictable twists and turns.

We will see surprise teams offer surprise contracts, plenty of false gossip/rumors and of course the bad guys (Yankees, Red Sox, Scott Boras) do bad things like offer free agents a contract higher than that of the entire Florida Marlins ball club.

With any luck, some team will come out of LF and surprise everyone (a la Seattle Mariners in the 2009-2010 offseason).

So, in essence, yes, it really is a soap opera.  Predicting what happens in a soap opera is neither wise nor accurate, ever.  Yet it continually serves to be a lucrative business for the likes of Ken Rosenthal and Jon Heyman.  So, in the spirit of irresponsible and consequence-free rumor starting/reporting, let’s begin!
