NFL Postseason Projections

Pardon My Bias Bleacher ReportNov 4, 2010

For the most part, the playoff teams have yet to be decided. Many teams that were expected to make it will not be there, while some surprises will find their way into the post season. Now that we are almost half way through the regular season, let me break down who I think will actually makes the NFL playoffs.

AFC

East: New York Jets

North: Pittsburgh Steelers

South: Indianapolis Colts

West: Kansas City Chiefs

Wild-Card 1: New England Patriots

Wild-Card 2: Baltimore Ravens

Eventually I believe that the Jets will overtake the Patriots, but New England will still have an amazing record and make it through as the wild-card.

Most of my projections are fairly predictable, but nobody would have expected the Kansas City Chiefs to make the playoffs.

I would love to see the San Diego Chargers heat up and overtake the West, but realistically that will be very difficult. Without winning the AFC West, the Chargers really have no chance of earning a wild-card spot and therefore, very sadly, I left the Chargers out of the playoffs this year. (I am hoping that I am wrong)

NFC

East: New York Giants

North: Green Bay Packers

South: Atlanta Falcons

West: St. Louis Rams

Wild-Card 1: New Orleans Saints

Wild-Card 2: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

My NFC picks are a little more random. Although I do not think the Superbowl Champion Saints can reconquer the South, I still believe they will take one of the wild-card spots.

The two surprise picks that I have are the Rams and Buccaneers. The Rams are in a very weak division that was supposed to be wrapped up by the San Francisco 49ers. The Seattle Seahawks are currently leading the division, and it will be a tight race between them and the Rams, but eventually I think that the Rams will control this division.

The Bucs on the other hand have started on fire. Their coach, Raheem Morris, believes that they are the best team in the NFC, and although that is pushing it, I still believe that are good enough to make the playoffs.

I do not believe the Redskins, Bears or Vikings can play out the season and succeed, leaving only the Philadelphia Eagles to challenge Tampa Bay for this final playoff spot.

This is just an opinion so please…Pardon My Bias
