Triple H defends his title in the first ever Smack Down championship scramble

Jay WeidemanAug 25, 2008

When the matches were taking place and the winners of the matches were getting their arms raised in victory I thought this was going to be the easiest title defense for "The Game" Triple H at Unforgiven but than after so more thinking I started believing that this is going to be a tough contest for the King of Kings.

It might not have the huge names that pro wrestling fanatics, like myself, hope and pray for but it does consist have five very talented and very unique superstars. Let's start with the man we have grown to hate in The Brian Kendrick. I will admit that I was surprised when he pulled off the victory in the 10 man over the rope battle royal ( with the huge help of a very angry Big Show and a nice little catch by his "man" Ezekiel Jackson). All opinions aside The Brian Kendrick is a talented athlete, using his athletic ability that we all remember in the lethal tag team of London & Kendrick to give him a undefeated record heading into this Friday. Also he will have Jackson in his corner which could give him the small dose of distraction that he could need to pull out the victory when the time runs out.

Shelton Benjamin is the current United States Champion and if he wins at Unforgiven he would be the undisputed champion on Smack Down which isn't out of the question. He has quite possibly the most pure and smoothest athleticism in the entire WWE. He can brawl with the best in the business and can use his speed to evade his competitors attacks and give him the advantage.

M.V.P. might be a stuck up man thinking he is " better than you" but he isn't the highest paid wrestler in WWE because Mr. McMahon feels like giving away his money again. He holds the longest United States championship reign in the title's history. He also has one of the most lethal boot kicks that has fallen many of his enemies.

Than there is Jeff Hardy. Hardy is one of the most popular superstars and is a man who lives on the high-flying and high-risk offense. The Swanton Bomb is the finisher that he utilizes to perfection by doing a complete 360 in the air and ultimately landing on his opponent. He has held multiple tag team titles at different times and has been the Intercontinental Champion, but is so hungry for the WWE championship that like always you can count on 100% from him.

Now we also must look at the man who is currently wearing the title belt around his waist,Triple H. He is a twelve time champion and can honestly say that he is the "King of Kings". He has dominated almost every one on the active roster that he has faced and has stood on the top rope flexing and yelling in victory. He has proved that he can hit The Pedigree on the tallest and the biggest superstars in WWE. He has proved that he can beat anyone by pin-fall and not by sneaking his way out. He has proved that he is the man who wrote the book on how to win.

Five men and one title, that will change hands multiple times in the twenty minute contest. Will it be The Brian Kendrick? Will it be Shelton Benjamin? Will it be M.V.P? Will it be Jeff Hardy? Or will it still be Triple H? All five are worthy but in two weeks four will find out why the pay-per-view is named Unforgiven, and one will stand tall holding the WWE championship.
