Where Will The Pac 10 Teams Finish

Arizona- As long as the defense can hold its own, Arizona may be headed to its first bowl game under the Mike Stoops era.  At least for his sake, lets hope the Wildcats can finally reach the post-season.  This might be there best team yet led by quarterback Willie Tuitama who is up there with the best in the Pac 10.  The last game of the season against Arizona St might decide if the Cats are going to be playing in December or if Coach Stoops will be looking for a job coming 2009.

Finish-6th

Arizona State- The biggest shock in the Pac 10 was the emergence of the Sun Devils. They Started the season 8-0 and ended up sharing the conference title with USC. Maybe this year, they will take over overtake the Trojans and get to that Rose Bowl game. This will only become a reality if Arizona States running game can compliment Rudy Carpenters aggressive throwing style.  If the the Sun Devils can win one of the two games against Georgia and USC, they be able to take the conference title.

Finish-2nd

California- Remember when Cal was one play away from becoming the number one team in the country.  Instead quarterback Kevin Riley ran right up the middle and slid to the field all while the clock was counting down.  Guess what Cal fans.  He is the starter this year after Jeff Tedford had enough of Nate Longshore inconsistencies. Running back Jahvid Best will have to step up if the Golden Bears want to reach a bowl game.

Finish-5th

Oregon- The Ducks have enough to fill in the two gaps left by Dennis Dixon and Jonathan Stewart.  Although starting quarterback Nate Costa is going to be out for eight weeks of the 2008 campaign, Oregon brings a well rounded offense into the 2008 campaign.  There defense is even stronger and as long as the Ducks can get by with only two conference losses, they may be able to reach a BCS Bowl game.    

Finish-3rd

Oregon State- After finishing third in the conference in 2007, the Beavers will most likely slip in the standings.  Not only did they lose their running back, Yvenson Bernard Oregon State also witnessed the departure of the best kicker in the nation, Alexis Serna. If there offense is able to hold its own, the Beavers defense only returns three starters which may be their achilles heal in 2008.  

Finish-8th

Stanford- A 41 point underdog last year.  And they won.  They also beat Cal in the classic rivalry game and ended 2007 with four wins.  Tavita Pritcherd, the quarterback behind the Palo Alto miracle is back and this time, he is gunning for a bowl game. Don't look for any major upsets this year, but if the Cardinal can win the games against the bottom of the Pac 10 as well as there non conference games, a postseason berth is not out of the question

UCLA- Ucla is home to the most unhealthy program in the country.  Quarterback Patrick Cowan and Ben Olsen are both out for the season, running back Khalil Bell is coming off an injury and three member of the offensive line are questionable at the start of the season.  However, the Bruins boast some of the best Wide Receivers in the entire country and they might be able to make any quarterback a Westwood star.  The Bruins will need to be able to get by their non conference schedule if they want to keep their hopes alive to make a bowl game.   

Finish-4th

USC- Mark Sanchez is recovered and will lead the Trojans into a campaign for another Pac 10 title.  Every other position is filled with one time blue chip recruits as well as NCAA all americans from previous seasons.  Anything short of a BCS bowl can be viewed as a failure for coach Pete Carroll.  The entire country should be looking forward to the showdown with Big Ten powerhouse, Ohio State.

Washington- The only bright spot for the Huskies is quarterback Jake Locker.  He is a superb athlete but with no one to help him, he may have trouble producing big numbers.  The rest of the offense is weak, the defense is weak, the special times are weak and it might be the time for the departure of coach Tyrone Willingham.  

Finish-9th

Washington State- It seems that no one plays football in Washington any more.  The only team worse than the Huskies may be the Cougars from Pullman.  Washington State will be in bad shape in the 2008 season after losing five offensive starters, including NFL draftee Alex Brink.  Who knows what is to come for the Cougars.

Brian Cushing and Rey Mauluga will give every offense the Trojans face trouble.

Freshman of the Year-LaGarrete Blount

Jonathan Stewart's replacement will have big shoes to fill, but he can handle it.
