Manchester United: Will Sir Alex Ferguson Do the Italian Job on Napoli?

One of the top clubs in the world, amongst the most successful clubs in England and Europe, records and trophies to prove their worth, Manchester United can almost lure any player to Old Trafford.

The latest names linked with a move to Manchester is Napoli duo Marek Hamsik and Edinson Cavani.

Whether or not they will make the move is not anything but speculation at this time, but interesting to United followers.

Both players are still young and are amazing talents, both attacking and having been amongst the goals in Serie A this season.

Aurelio de Laurentiis the president of Napoli has strongly come out and squashed any attempt by Sir Alex Ferguson in signing the duo.

In a statement, he had the following to say:

"When I read of the €40 million offer from Alex Ferguson for two of our players I started to laugh,"

"Unfortunately, many don't realise that it is important to keep your best players to be able to become champions."

Marek Hamšík

Age: 23

Nationality: Slovakian

Position: Attacking Midfielder 

Represented Slovakia at the World Cup in South Africa. He has stamped in position in the national team and is a key member of the Napoli attacking unit.  

Edinson Cavani

Age: 23

Nationality: Uruguayan

Position: Striker 

Like Marek, he has also represented his country at the World Cup. He made a move from Palermo in the summer, scoring twice for Napoli in his first start for the club.
