Randy Moss Cut: Reunion in New England Is a Long Shot

Tony SantorsaNov 1, 2010

With the reports of Minnesota Vikings' wide receiver Randy Moss to be placed on waivers, there has been speculation of that he might be on his way back to New England.

Is this really happening? Randy Moss becoming a Patriot is just so far-fetched and would never, ever happen.

You might say, "well Moss didn't board the plane and stayed here in New England after the game." Well, that doesn't mean anything. Moss talked his way out of New England, and he has now talked his way out of Minnesota.

Do you really think Patriots' head coach Bill Belichick will sell his soul again? No.

When I say, "selling his soul," I mean that Moss is everything against what New England believes; a team oriented franchise that has one common goal being a Super Bowl victory.

And please allow me to just "kill" all of the New England and Moss speculation right now: He is going to be placed on waivers, which means New England will be the last team on the wire to claim Moss.

There are multiple teams ahead of New England that would make the bone-headed move in claiming Moss, but one really stands out to me the most: The Washington Redskins.

Moss being claimed by the 'Skins very well could happen.

Daniel Snyder, the owner of Washington, knows nothing about football. Yes, nothing. He would make this bone-headed, idiotic move by bringing in Randall Moss.

Snyder will see Moss' name on the wavier wire, and he will claim it right away just because he's a big name. I personally feel like Snyder will sign players depending on their Madden NFL '11 rankings.

But anyways, back to New England.

There is nothing there.

Belichick already shipped Moss away, and they have won three in a row. Why change something that's working just fine?

New England is the best team in football, record-wise. And there is no reason to change the roster.
