MMA's Top 10 Most Bad Ass Nicknames
There are certain fighters with nicknames that sound so dangerous they give you goosebumps, sending a chill up your spine.
Throughout MMA history, there have been many truly bad ass nicknames. Only a few of them can be ranked in the Top 10.
Here's a list of the MMA's Top 10 Most Bad Ass Nicknames.
No. 10: The Dragon
1 of 10
Lyoto Machida has one of the coolest nicknames in the UFC—that's a fact.
Machida might as well breathe fire with the way he obliterates fighters that stand in his way.
Will "The Dragon" come out on top in his next bout with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (see No. 3) at UFC 123?
No. 9: Nightmare
2 of 10
Facing a man like Diego Sanchez was definitely a nightmare for fighters like Joe Stevenson and Kenny Florian.
His spiritual, zen-like personality just adds to his character and nightmarish style in the cage.
No. 8: The Natural Born Killer
3 of 10
Carlos Condit always seems to have a dark shadow looming over his face like that of a killer.
And he sure looked like one at his recent fight with Dan Hardy where he won via knockout in the first round.
No. 7: The Outlaw
4 of 10
Dan Hardy is the epitome of a bad ass.
He's got the red Mohawk, the razor sharp teeth painted on his mouth guard and that violent personality.
All these attributes make him almost seem...criminal.
No. 6: The Iceman
5 of 10
Chuck Liddell is one of the greatest champions in UFC history. There was no way his victims would get past those heavy hands. The nickname "The Iceman" is unlike any other, and Chuck Liddell will forever be a legend.
He got the nickname from one of his trainer's who said he showed "no emotion before fights. No fear, no hesitation, no anything." From then on, he was known as the "The Iceman."
No. 5: Mayhem
6 of 10
Whether he's submitting Kazushi Sakuraba, taunting Jake Shields for a rematch or hosting MTV's Bully Beatdown, Jason Miller causes mayhem inside and outside of the cage.
No. 4: The Dean of Mean
7 of 10
"The Dean of Mean" may not be as mean as he used to be, but that is one nickname that will forever be printed inside your head.
After losing five fights in a row, Keith Jardine was cut from the UFC and had a bout at Shark Fights 13 where he lost to Trevor Prangley. You would think at this point he would call it quits, but he has yet another fight scheduled—Nemesis Fighting: MMA Global Invasion against Francisco France.
He's one tough man, who just doesn't give up.
No. 3: Rampage
8 of 10
"Rampage" is an aggressive man and has hands with extreme knock out power.
Quinton Jackson went on a rampage after his UFC debut where he went on to defeat Chuck Liddell for the light heavyweight belt and later defended his title against Dan Henderson.
No. 2: The Crippler
9 of 10
Chris Leben's nickname "The Crippler" would send chills up anyone's spine.
Leben was once known as "The Cat Smasher" (a name like that WOULD have landed him on the least bad ass list), but post his appearance on the cast of The Ultimate Fighter, he became "The Crippler."
He's currently on a three-fight winning streak and is scheduled to face Brian Stann early next year at UFC 125: Resolution.
No. 1: The Axe Murderer
10 of 10
Wanderlei Silva's nickname is without a doubt the most bad ass nickname in all of MMA.
This perilous man was once a threat to many opponents that stepped into the octagon with him.
Although he's not as "murderous" anymore, in the past he defeated Quinton "Rampage" Jackson twice while in Pride and men like Keith Jardine and Michael Bisping in the UFC.
"The Axe Murderer" will hold onto the top spot and will go down in history as an MMA legend.
