NFL Hot Predicitions: Eagles Fly Over Colts, Saints March Over Panthers

Roz McCoyNov 7, 2010

Dang it. Last week I didn't write an article, and I got 11 picks correct. I didn't even get to brag to my non-B/R friends. I made a vow to make sure I publish my predictions this week, even if I have to do it in my sleep. And since the world has graced me with an extra hour of sleep last night, I'm well rested. Let's see how well I do this week:

This week's byes: Broncos, Jaguars, 49ers, Rams, Titans and Redskins

New York Jets at Detroit: I keep telling y'all: the Detroit Lions are NOT as bad as they seem. You cannot judge them based on their win/loss ratio. And they proved that last week when they won against Washington. The Lions have one more win in them this season, but it won't be this week. The Jets have a better offense. New York Jets 35 - Detroit 31

San Diego at Houston: I'm wondering how in the ham sandwich are the Chargers as well as they are  this season? On the flip side, I am also wondering why the Texans are so hit and miss this season.

Houston has superb talent, both on offense and defense, but sometimes, they act like they forgot they were in the middle of a football game. I hope they remember today. The Chargers' wins were flukes. There will be no fluke this week. San Diego 10 - Houston 23

Tampa Bay at Atlanta: This is gonna be a hard one for me to call. Both teams are 5-2 and they have won and or loss to teams of comparable talent. I like Tampa, and I am rooting for almost any Florida team, but it's gonna be hard for them to win in Atlanta. The home team advantage rule will apply here. Atlanta 27 - Tampa Bay 20

New Orleans at Carolina: The Saints squeaked a win from the Panthers earlier this season, which left many fans wondering "How did THAT happen?" The defending champs should never have "almost lost" to a team as unorganized as the Panthers.

Since then, New Orleans has improved a bit, and so has Carolina. But, there  will be no squeaking this week: New Orleans will run over Carolina like a well oiled steamboat, rolling down the Mississippi. New Orleans 30 - Carolina  14

Chicago at Buffalo: Anyone who has been following me knows that I have a wish: No team goes undefeated this season. The only team left on my wish list is the hapless Bills. My wish will come true today. Chicago 13 - Buffalo 24

Arizona at Minnesota: If this game was in week one or two, I would have picked the Vikings to win, no question. But since then, Minnesota's Brett Favre has been inundated with sacks, physical damages,  scandals, and the addition and subsequently abrupt departure of Randy Moss.

In the interim, Arizona started the season rather sloppy, but has been  steadily cleaning up their act. Favre is going to start in his 293rd game today, broke ankle, stitches and all. I applaud his tenacity, but his presence does the team more harm then good. Arizona 31 - Minnesota 20

New England at Cleveland: You call this a game? Are you serious? Oh come ON now! The Browns don't have a chance at this one. I don't even have to go into detail for this one. New England 35 - Cleveland 17

Miami at Baltimore: This is going to be interesting. Miami has more losses but they have barely lost each game. Baltimore has more wins, but they have barely one. So, its the "Battle of the Barelys" with these two. Baltimore has an edge in overall talent, but Miami is going  to prove that they are contenders. Miami 21 -  Baltimore 17

New York Giants at Seattle: The Giants are a fantastic team and I fully expect them to make be in the playoffs. The Seahawks are a good team; they are better than their win/loss ratio gives them credit for. Seattle can add another loss to their ratio after today. Last thing I heard, their starting QB won't be in attendance today. They won't stand a chance without him. New York Giants 28 - Seattle 10

Indiana at Philadelphia: THIS is the game of the week, y'all. We ALL know of the "Magic of Manning" but has anyone noticed that every week, someone from the Colts gets damaged and cannot play. So far, they've got 12 injured team mates.

Now, when it comes to Peyton Manning, he doesn't care who he throws the ball to; someone is gonna catch it. Problem is, Manning's options are getting slimmer and slimmer.

And with the Eagles, it's the return of Micheal "I Don't Need An O-line I'll Run The Ball My Dang Self" Vick. He's well rested, and he and his teammates are returning from a bye week. They JUST MIGHT have the Colts number. I think they do. Indiana 21 - Philadelphia  28

Kansas City at Oakland: Just as I said Detroit is not as bad as their win/loss ratio is, Oakland is not as GOOD as their ratio.  Kansas City is on fire and I wouldn't be surprised to see these fellows in the playoffs. Their next step to the playoffs is today. Kansas City 35 - Oakland 13

Dallas at Green Bay: By now only, the most delusional of fans are thinking the Cowboys are a super bowl caliber team.  If they are smart, they have wrote of Dallas doing anything worthwhile this season, and are already thinking about next season. No Romo, no win, and even if Romo were in top physical shape, Green Bay would STILL win.

Dallas really needs to focus on being a team, in stead of a group a individual superstar players, who live off of the laurels of yesteryear. Dallas, nobody cares what you did back in '85 and '91. It's TODAY that counts. Get off your duffs and play. The Packers come to play, every game, and they play through the WHOLE game, not just the fourth quarter.  Dallas 10 - Green Bay 28

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati: Do NOT let the Steelers loss last week fool you into thinking this team has lost any of their luster. The Dolphins play just a tad bit smarter than usual last week, and that led to the Steelers loss. The Bengals are not nearly that smart. There star players spend too much time on reality TV and at the mall. Perhaps they should try something different—like  PRACTICING, perhaps? Just a thought... Pittsburgh 27 - Cincinnati 17
