NFL Awesome Rankings No. 4
Last week’s No. 1 Team (Jets) had a bye week, which isn’t a bad thing, but it usually makes room for someone else who might have played well last week.
Is that the case this week?
Last weekend was crazy. The Browns beat the Saints (neither in the awesome rankings) with very little offense and the Raiders dominated the Broncos from the start. Deangelo Hall had four INTs in a game, in a game. I thought that was only possible for Deion Sanders on Super Tecmo Bowl.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Anyway, here are this weeks Totally Awesome rankings:
1. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-1) This team will make the playoffs, but with Big Ben back they are the top team in the league. I would love to see them face the Jets, which we will get in Week 15.
Good win over a VERY tough Miami team last week, even though it was controversial.
2. New York Jets (5-1) They had a week to rest up and get ready for a disappointing Green Bay team. The home crowd will be ready and Revis and Cromartie will be ready for the pass happy Packers.
3. New York Giants (5-2) Wait, what? Yeah, I did it, I didn’t want to put another AFC team here. The Giants have proved that a strong defense is the key to having a good record. While the D didn’t keep Dallas from putting up 35 points, it knocked Tony Romo out with a broken clavicle and relied on a red hot Eli Manning.
They keep getting better and better, and don’t forget Ahmad Bradshaw who leads the NFC in rushing.
4. New England Patriots (5-1) Great win over San Diego on the road. Tom Brady seems to be ok without Randy Moss.
5. Baltimore Ravens (5-2) VERY scary past week against the winless Bills. Again, part of a crazy weekend. This team is still a playoff team, but needs to keep winning against squads they are heavily favored against.
Ray Rice still hasn’t been consistent this year, which will become harder with the next two weeks against the Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons.
6. Atlanta Falcons (5-2) Our biggest mover after last week. While the game was a win, the Falcons defense took a few lumps against a pretty good Cincy offense.
Thing is, this team showed that it can get down and still win. Matt Ryan is a great leader and Roddy White gives him a true No. 1 target.
7. Tennessee Titans (5-2) This ranking may not be fair, because I would probably take them against Atlanta head-to-head. Even though Vince Young was out, Kerry Collins made Kenny Britt a star.
A huge game last week gave the Titans a true offensive threat to compliment Chris Johnson’s running. With VY back, look for the Titans to make a run for a division title.
8. Indianapolis Colts (4-2) Probably would be ranked higher, but I think they are playing their fifth stringers in some positions. Injuries are really hurting this team, and their run at division titles could be over.
HUGE game this week against the No. 9 ranked Texans. HUGE.
9. Houston Texans (4-2) Jury still seems to be out with this team. While they feature a great offensive attack, the defense is really struggling. The game this week against the No. 8 Colts could be for the division title. It will be a fun one to watch.
10. Kansas City Chiefs (4-2) Very young team that continues to play well. The two-headed RB attack of Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones is working out and QB Matt Cassel seems comfortable with his arsenal.
If the defense and special teams continue to make plays, this could be a surprise playoff team. A “comfortable” week against Buffalo in Week 8.
Almost There:
Green Bay Packers- Injuries are piling up and they need more consistent play from QB Aaron Rodgers.
Philadelphia Eagles- Vick returns next week, which could mean a top 10 ranking.
Washington Redskins- Defense came up huge last week, can they string some quality wins together?
Sorry Guys, You Just Aren’t There Yet:
Seattle Seahawks- Don’t put up great numbers, but they are 4-2. They need more wins.
New Orleans Saints- Defending champs look pretty sloppy this year.
Miami Dolphins- The victory last week might have moved them up, but they are still a good team.
