NFL Picks Week 8: 10 Shockers You'll Never See Coming
NFL Picks time and I am locked and loaded for this weekend.
A brief look at the schedule was a revelation to me. I realized that a good portion of these games will go the way of the dog. Parity is always a good thing. This week, it will be a great thing.
I have picked out 10 games. Some that could very well be upsetting to the favorites, others will shock you in other ways. With a game in London this weekend, anything could happen.
So let's make some bold predictions.
10: Denver Broncos at San Francisco 49ers (at London)
1 of 10
Here we have another NFL experiment overseas that should be forgotten right after the final whistle.
Either way you have two teams that play lackluster football. In a sense, we all lose. The 49ers are favored by one point right now. But we all know, they find new and exciting ways to lose very week.
Broncos: 24
49ers: 17
9: Wahington Redskins at Detroit Lions
2 of 10
The Lions play well at home. They also may be getting Matthew Stafford back.
Right now, the Lions are favored by two points. Please disregard them. McNabb has looked very human this season and Jahvid Best will run all over that team.
Redskins: 21
Lions: 35
8: Green Bay Packers at New York Jets
3 of 10
The Jets are favored by six going into this one. It is too bad because the Packers are going to win this one outright.
The reason is Aaron Rodgers. He is one of the few quarterbacks that can pick apart the Jets defense.
Packers: 17
Jets: 10
7: Carolina Panthers at St. Louis Rams
4 of 10
The Rams may be favored here but not by much. The real shocker is when I tell you that the Rams will win this one handily.
They will be lead by the three touchdowns, all thrown by Sam Bradford. The Panthers defense along with the maturation of the QB will be on display this Sunday.
Panthers: 17
Rams: 27
6: Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals
5 of 10
As of today, the Bengals are favored by 2.5. I am not a believer in the Bengals or their ability to be consistent this year.
I am, however, a believer in Chad Henne and Brandon Marshall.
Dolphins: 24
Bengals: 21
5: Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs
6 of 10
Here is my upset pick of the week.
Does anyone outside of Buffalo realize how good Ryan Fitzpatrick is? Well, he is.
This week, the Bills get into the win column.
Bills: 35
Chiefs: 24
4: Tennessee Titans at San Diego Chargers
7 of 10
The Chargers are favored by four points. That will not be enough, not even at home.
The Chargers' issues with turnovers and special teams will do them in yet again.
Titans: 24
Chargers: 17
3: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Arizona Cardinals
8 of 10
Tampa Bay is a good team, but in no way are they great.
Last week they showed that it does not take much to defeat a team from the NFC West. This week will be no different.
Buccaneers: 21
Cardinals: 17
2: Seattle Seahawks at Oakland Raiders
9 of 10
Anytime I get to take a jab at the Raiders, I will do so. Currently, they are a 1.5 point favorite going into Week 8.
This one will not be close. The Seahawks have the defense to stop Jason Campbell or whatever other "quarterback" they choose to go with.
Seahawks: 31
Raiders: 17
1: Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts
10 of 10
With the Colts favored, this will be a lot closer than people think.
The Colts give up too many rushing yards, and the Texans like to run. Conversely, the Texans give up too many passing yards, and the Colts like to throw.
Look for a tight one. This will be an eventual Monday Night upset.
Texans: 24
Colts: 21
