Weekly Review
Sunday (10/17): What better way to start off the week but with big-time trade rumors? On Sunday reports came out that the Rangers were shopping sophomore defenseman Matthew Gilroy. These rumors were questioned for a while, but New York Rangers beat writer Andrew Gross (The Record) reported that the Rangers are indeed shopping him. Nothing has happened yet, obviously, but Sather is still looking for a trade partner.

Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
Monday (10/18): On Monday reports came out regarding veteran forward Vinny Prospal and his knee injury. Prospal will be out of the lineup for up to two months, adding to the Rangers flurry of injuries. Marc Staal took over his spot as an extra Alternate Captain. The Rangers faced off against the Colorado Avalanche Monday afternoon, and lost 3-1. The Rangers were tied at one heading into the third period, but could not hold on.
Thursday (10/21): On Thursday the Rangers took on one of the hottest teams in hockey, the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Rangers played a very strong defensive game in Toronto, blocking 30 shots and killing five penalties. Martin Biron played very well in his Rangers debut, leading New York to a 2-1 victory.
Saturday (10/23): The Rangers paid a visit to the hottest team in hockey, the Boston Bruins. The Bruins defeated the Washington Capitals two games in a row, and the Rangers called on their superstar goalie Henrik Lundqvist to get them a win.
The Rangers played another excellent defensive game, and won 3-2, but there was a major down-side to this game. One of the Rangers better players thus far, Brandon Prust, was injured after taking a high stick to the face. Prust left the game in the second period, and did not return. He was taken to a nearby Massachusetts Ear and Eye Infirmary to get his pupil checked. Brandon Prust will come back to New York with the Rangers tonight, and will likely play tomorrow night against the Devils.
Weekly Preview
The New York Rangers will play four games in the next seven days, including a home game tonight against the Devils, a home game Wednesday against the Atlanta Thrashers, a home game Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes and their third meeting of the season against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto on Saturday.
Wolf Pack/Whale Weekly
Sunday (10/17): The Wolf Pack defeated the Providence Bruins, 3-0. Cam Talbot pitched a 41-save shutout for Hartford, while Kris Newbury added three assists, Tim Kennedy a goal and Wade Redden an assist in the win.
Wednesday (10/20): The Wolf Pack lost 5-1 to the undefeated Norfolk Admirals, with Tim Kennedy scoring the lone goal for Hartford.
Friday (10/22): The Wolf Pack were shut out 1-0 by the Binghamton Senators, dropping their second straight game.
Saturday (10/23): The Wolf Pack lost in overtime 2-1 to the Syracuse Crunch. Jeremy Williams scored the lone goal.
New York Rangers: 3-2-1-7 (Ninth in Eastern Conference)
Hartford Wolf Pack/Whale: 3-3-2-8 (Fourth in Division)
