Pitt Panthers' Message To Mountaineers After Syracuse Loss: Man Up!

Mountaineers:

So sorry to hear about your upset loss today to Syracuse. Syracuse? Are you freakin' kidding me? We slammed them good all over that dump of a dome they have to the tune of 45-14. You guys stunk up your own stadium today.

Worst of all, you put all the pressure back on us. Now we have to play for Big East pride, regardless of how little there is left.

Plus you made the Big East, already the worst BCS conference, suck even more. Now there will be NO Big East teams in the Top 25 and it's the end of October for God's sake.

I hear you guys were booed by your own fans, and that old coach of yours didn't have a clue what to do. One of your sports writers said you guys were thinking about us. That's very touching.

Gee, we didn't know you loved Pitt so much. You just thought we are lame and we pasted Syracuse so you could play with your I-Pods most of the game, work on your Saturday night party plans, and dial in a win over the Orange.

Gee, you dudes at the other end of I-79 must be obsessed with us. I mean in a way you let us beat you today and I'm pretty sure we're going to hand it to you at Heinz in November. 

That way we can get you back twice in one year for last year's game. Yea, last year in the Brawl we weren't really focused on you, either, we just kept thinking about Cincinnati. We learned our lesson good.

Hey, but we don't hate you Mounties. Nah, we just don't think about you very much. That's why we could never let whatever you did in last week's game influence us. We make enough mistakes on our own.

But, please, promise you won't mention to anyone that either of us play in the Big East. I mean it is the sorriest college football conference ever put together. I keep waiting for TCU to sign up, but I hear that's in the garbage because Providence College wants to add a football team.

Anyway, most of the Big East action (and, remember, shh) happens in November. So, Mountaineers, Man up! Get a grip. We've got four games to play before the Brawl. The way it's supposed to work this season is we will be undefeated and you will be (you were supposed to be undefeated too) a one-loss team when we hook up in November.

By the way, if you start obsessing about us again just think about the Navy-Notre Dame game today. That was our version of your Syracuse game.

We tried a weak comeback but we lost. Navy was all over the Irish today and won big. How does that make us look? Like you, right? Humbling, don't you think?

Best wishes. And I know you guys are good enough to beat up on these wimpy Big East teams. Just think: If we can both win out, our Brawl will be a huge game for a BCS bid!
