BCS Week 8 Picks Against the Spread: Will No. 1 Fall Again?
First off I would like to send my prayers and thoughts to the family of Rutgers DT Eric LeGrand who suffered a spinal cord injury last Saturday. I know times are hard now, but if you can, take a look at the fund that has been set up to help Eric's family, thanks y'all.
Trojans are getting no love, could someone say UPSET?
But that is next week,
y'all. We got big games this week in the SEC, Big 10 and of course the Big XII. I made a huge pot of pasta with fresh heirloom and black cherry tomatoes, and I am ready for game day!

Da Kahunas Picks: Week 8
No. 7 Michigan St. Spartans (-5) at Northwestern Wildcats
This is the Spartans first trip out of the state of Michigan, and they are facing a good squad in the Wildcats. Cats QB Dan Persa is running a pass-heavy offense and needs to be on point to pull this one out. I say UPSET ALERT! I think the Wildcats make it a close one and beat the spread and possibly pull off the W.
No. 15 Iowa Hawkeyes (-5.5) at No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers
The past seven teams to beat the AP No. 1 in the regular season are 3-4 in their next game, so where are the Badgers going to fit in? The game will have to be won in the trenches in this one as the O-line for Wisconsin are facing a D-line for Iowa that's nails.
I think the Badgers and the whole greek system in "Mad-Town" are still hung over from the win last week, and it will be hard for them to make a rally once they get behind in Iowa City. Hawkeyes cover the spread and win by 10.
Air Force Falcons at No. 5 TCU Horned Frogs (-18.5)
Why is TCU getting no love boggles my mind. The Frogs are playing some good D now and will prove it once again as they face a potent Air Force running game. Air Force will be without FB Jarred Tew, and that will hurt. The Frogs will cover the spread in this one and stay alive for their bid to Pasadena.
No. 6 LSU Tigers at No. 4 Auburn Tigers (-6)
Alright this is either going to be one of those classic SEC matchups or it will be a blowout. LSU has been volatile, and I am surprised "The Hat" has been able to pull out some of those W's.
Everyone is jocking Cam Newton for Heisman right now and truth is he has been ballin. However LSU's D is straight-up tough like some alligator meat straight off the grill, especially against the run not allowing a single rusher to gain over 100 yards.
I think Auburn pulls it off in the end as Newton finds a way to make it happen and scores the winning TD in the last minute. Auburn beats the spread winning by seven.
Hawaii Warriors (-3) at Utah State Aggies
The Warriors are coming off of a big win against Nevada and leave the comfort of Aloha Stadium to travel to Utah. Utah St. blew out BYU, but I think they are fairly inconsistent which will hurt them this week against future KAHUNA HEISMAN HOPEFUL Bryant Moniz and his receiving corp that includes Greg Salas and Kealoha Pilares. I think the Warriors are getting into a groove and their offense is clicking. UH covers the spread winning by 14.
No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners (-3) at No. 11 Missouri Tigers
Check this stat out: the No. 1 team in the season's first BCS ranking has won the BCS championship only TWICE (FSU 99, USC 2004). Does this have any significant impact on this matchup?
Well the Sooners are on the road, Missouri's program needs this signature win and with the crowd on their side, an early touchdown or turnover can swing momentum in their favor fast. I think the Sooners are too good though and they have hung at least 25 points on Mizzou in all seven meetings with Stoops as coach. OU covers the spread and wins by 10.
Well there you go, y'all, a nice six-game parlay that should pay off nice for you. I'm gonna give another shout out to the San Francisco Giants as they head to Philly to make it to the World Series by winning tomorrow.
Let's do it boys, I want to go nutz in the Tenderloin celebrating!!! Have a great game day, y'all!
