UCLA Bruins vs. Oregon Ducks Live Blog: Play-By-Play and Instant Analysis

Josh MartinOct 21, 2010

Ducks, Bruins and college football fans in general, welcome to the Bleacher Report live blog of tonight's matchup between top-ranked Oregon and UCLA at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.

At 6-0 (3-0 in the Pac-10), Chip Kelly and the Ducks find themselves atop both the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll for the first time in school history, though the initial BCS rankings have Oregon at No. 2 behind the Oklahoma Sooners.

Nevertheless, the Ducks have their eyes on the BCS prize just a season removed from an appearance in the Rose Bowl.

Oregon's football flock is helmed by Heisman contender LaMichael James, the explosive running back who currently leads the nation in rushing yards per game with an average of nearly 170.

On the other hand, the Bruins (3-3, 1-2 in the Pac-10) have had an inconsistent season to say the least. UCLA's squad is led on defense by All-American linebacker Akeem Ayers and, on offense by a talented stable of backs, with Jonathan Franklin and Derrick Coleman chief among them.

However, with a number of key players dealing with injuries, including quarterback Kevin Prince, and playing on the road against the No. 1 team in the land, it's clear that the odds are stacked against Rick Neuheisel's team.

Can the Bruins pull off their third win over a ranked opponent this year, or will the Ducks continue their romp through the Pac-10?

Stay tuned to find out.
