Fantasy Football Week 7 Rankings: Wide Receivers

Bruno Boys Fantasy FootballOct 21, 2010

Deion Branch’s triumphant return to the New England Patriots was one of the significant stories of the weekend and he made the most of it scoring 19 fantasy football points for owners who decided to take a chance on him.

Philadelphia Eagles’ receiver Jeremy Maclin was able to seize his opportunity after Desean Jackson was forced to leave the game with a concussion scoring 27 fantasy points against the Atlanta Falcons.  Let’s hope Week 7 is half as interesting as Week 6 was.  Here are our Fantasy Football Week 7 Wide Receiver Rankings.

1. Randy Moss (Minnesota Vikings) @ Green Bay

So Moss had a terrific game right?  Wrong!  He was targeted six times and hauled in five receptions for 55 yards against the Dallas Cowboys.  Brett Favre was under siege all day (three sacks) and had his lowest passing total of the season (118 yards).

Look for Moss to have a bounce back game against a banged up Green Bay secondary that allowed Miami Dolphins’ wide receiver Brandon Marshall to walk all over them last week (10 receptions for 127 yards) and have now allowed four touchdowns and 74 fantasy points to opposing wide outs over last three games.

Look for Moss to make his presence known Sunday.

Point Projection: 17 points

2. Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Cincinnati

Rowdy Roddy had another solid game against a tenacious Philadelphia Eagle defense.  He was targeted 11 times and had six receptions for 83 yards.  White has a tough matchup against a Cincinnati Bengals team with a pair of talented corners and a pass defense that has allowed the thirteenth least passing yards per game this season (206.6).

Quarterback Matt Ryan however, is always looking his way for the big play and White’s talent is always shining through, even in the toughest of matchups this season.

Point Projection: 16 points

3. Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals) @ Seattle

Fitzgerald is having a solid season so far despite inconsistent quarterback play.  He has 26 receptions for 301 yards and two touchdowns.  Coming off the bye week, Fitzgerald faces a Seattle Seahawks team that has given up the third most passing yards per game (302) and have allowed the fifth most points to opposing wide receivers this season (24.8).

Look for quarterback Max Hall to get his playmaker involved early and for the fresh Fitzgerald to have a productive game Sunday.

Point Projection: 16 points
