Tennessee Titans: Cornerback Battle Continues As Jason McCourty Gets Healthy
Jason McCourty and Alterraun Verner battled it out once again for the second cornerback position on the Tennessee Titans as McCourty is finally cleared for full contact.
McCourty and Verner battled all summer into the preseason for the starting role on the team. In the end McCourty won the battle, but it was most likely due to experience over actual skill level.
In his first three weeks at corner, McCourty played great breaking up many passes and pulling down an interception in the endzone.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In week four McCourty went down with a broken arm and Verner stepped in his place. Since then Verner has played outstanding. He has made some key tackles, broken up some passes, and pulled down two huge interceptions in the last two games.
So now that McCourty is healthy who will start on Sunday? McCourty has more speed than Verner, but Verner has much better coverage skills.
From a fans perspective, Verner should get the start. He creates more turnovers, he makes plays, and he plays a high risk, high reward style of corner. However, that is not the football Fisher usually plays. McCourty is the guy that will give receivers a five yard out, but will not let them go deep.
Just because McCourty was cleared for full practice, does not mean he is a 100 percent, which is why Verner will start this Sunday against the Eagles.
