Inside the Life of a Working NASCAR WAG: Kate Edwards

Before Carl

Katherine Downey Edwards is from her husband’s hometown, Columbia, Mo. She attended school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2004 where she earned a medical degree.

After graduating, she entered residency at the University of Missouri- Columbia and completed the program in 2007 as Chief Resident in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

She currently works to rehab patients with severe and traumatic brain injuries.

Carl

Downey and Edwards began dating in 2006 and were married on January 3, 2009.  

Edwards was so serious about supporting his sponsors that all the wedding stationary was bought at Office Depot.

Children

The couple has one daughter together.  Annie Edwards was born at 12:44pm on February 24, 2010 and weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz.

Annie was the second Cup baby born in 2010.

Busy Life

As you can see, Dr. Edwards has a career and a family.  She could possibly be the busiest wife in NASCAR while balancing the crazy travel schedule, working with patients, and her new daughter.
