NFL Power Rankings Week 7: Rating The Top Defenses

Unless a fantasy owner has a top defense in the NFL, owners usual scout the waiver wire to see which defense is the best start. Analyzing your defensive matchups can be the deciding factor in winning fantasy games.

Here are the top defenses heading into Week 7.

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have an extremely talented defense. A defense that consists of Defensive Player of The Year Charles Woodson, and Clay Matthews who leads the NFL with 8.5 sacks.

The Packers defense is banged up but they still remain a threat to help out fantasy owners. Green Bay is second in the league with 21 sacks, and have also picked off seven passes.

With the speed and athleticism of this defense, keep them on your roster.

New York Giants

After a slow start to begin the 2010 season, the New York Giants defense exploded for 10 sacks in Week 4 against the Chicago Bears. Since Week 4, the Giants have five sacks, two interceptions, and seven forced fumbles while allowing just 32 points.

The Giants defense seemed to have found themselves after a rough start so fantasy owners should hang on to them for the remainder of the season.

The Giants travel to Dallas in Week 7 which will be a tougher matchup.

Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have just 12 sacks this season, but have picked off a league leading 11 passes and returned one for a touchdown. The Falcons' secondary goes after the ball, making them contenders every week for a big game defensively. Fantasy owners are always happy with interceptions.

The Falcons are home against the Bengals in Week 7. Start the Falcons defense against a weak Cincinnati offense.

New York Jets

The New York Jets' defense has a sack and a forced fumble in every game thus far this season. The Jets defense is very talented and is always capable of a big game.

The Jet defense has 13 sacks and five interceptions on the season, one being returned for a touchdown.

The Jets have a bye in Week 7, but bring them off the bench in Week 8.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers' defense is solid every year, and this season has been no different. The Steelers have 16 sacks on the year, including three games where they had four plus sacks. Dick LaBeau's defense has eight interceptions on the year and 10 forced fumbles,

The Steelers defense is a must-start every week. Keep them in the lineup in Week 7 at Miami.

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans lead all defenses in fantasy scoring in the 2010 season. If you drafted them, hang on to them, and if you snatched them off the waiver wire, than that was a smart move. Perhaps a move that can help you get to your championship.

The Titans lead the NFL with 24 sacks and are tied for second with 10 interceptions. the Titans have not had a game with less than two sacks and two games with six sacks.

The Titans are home against the Eagles in Week 7. They remain a must-start.
