New York Rangers Report: Veteran Forward Vinny Prospal Injury Update
Today the Rangers veteran center Vinny Prospal received the news that he will be unable to play for up to two months. He had surgery on his right knee, and will be placed on the long-term injury reserve list for six to eight weeks.
This is not good news for the Rangers, who will also miss Marian Gaborik and Chris Drury due to injuries. Marian Gaborik will be out from two to four weeks, Drury will be out for six weeks, and now Prospal will be missed for up to two months of hockey. A troubling start to the new season for the Rangers to say the least.

Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
The Rangers have now lost their top two scorers from last season, Marian Gaborik and Vinny Prospal, and now they have lost their captain.
Erik Christensen is another player who is day-to-day with a pulled groin muscle, but he will play for the Rangers tonight, unless something occurs between now and game time, and he will be given fourth line playing minutes to keep him away from further injury.
The Rangers will be riding superstar goaltender Henrik Lundqvist for the next few weeks and if he is unable to improve his poor play from the previous games, which is not completely his fault, the team may drop drastically in the standings.
Players Must Step Up
Alexander Frolov will be heavily relied on for goal scoring during the absence of these forwards, as will Brandon Dubinsky. Both players must step up and rise to the occasion. The defense must also step up their game, and play better in the defensive zone. Lundqvist will not stop every shot; he is only human. The defense must play better.
Dale Weise
New York Rangers prospect Dale Wiese, who is part of the affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack, will receive wrist surgery, and will be out for up to six weeks for the Wolf Pack.
That's all for now.
